  • Props to Kiefer for trying...but as we all know with his current state...it's not really probable...
Even if he improves twice from the previous year, it's not gonna be enough as there are always new guys coming in that are far more talented and skilled than he is...not to mention, a lot younger too...Only if he's a couple of inch taller or 3 inches taller, then he might....

the additional three inches wouldnt help honing his outside shooting and playmaking..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

That's true...but it can be learned...and it can be practiced...and as obvious as it is no practice can increase a person's height.

          • It's not about making it or not naman eh... the most important thing is that he is trying! he is trying to improve his game. si guo ailun nasa CBA si keifer nasa legends practicing with more talented players and texas guards now is really good lalo na yung pierre jackson mag iimprove siya dun. keifer is on the right track.

Funny that Analyzed did not argue with your comment that PBA is a better or tougher level than ABL but I understand because you are rooting for his player Matt Wright. Last year Analyzed was always arguing that playing in ABL with 2 American imports is better than playing in PBA because at that time Matt Wright is making a descent numbers in ABL and not expecting that Ray Parks Jr. will play in ABL in the future and will get a better stats than Matt.

                • Actually when you think about it both players Wright and Parks have basically proven they can be effective in the ABL and playing with and against PBA players ( Wright in current PBA conference and Parks by playing in Gilas OQT( there is no way the coaching staff will even consider him if he couldn't show anything in practice playing vs Gilas PBA players.

To me if you base on the eye test , not stats if you can show you can deliver in the ABL ( yes with 2 imports etc etc) , but more importantly it's the fact that when you watch film , you can actually see the guy (whether Matt or Parks) score 3 pointers , score against imports etc, etc. that is verification to me that the player can play in the PBA ( off course how good a PBA player remains to be seen but much of that is about adjusting to the different style and PBA game) .

Matt and Parks are 2 different players with one having certain advantages over the other in some areas, while the other is better in others. I would definitely choose Parks over Wright as a full time small forward. (or even point forward due to his versatility) but on the same token as full time shooting guard specialist and assuming you had a quality point guard and decent small forward I would choose Wright as my full time specialist shooting guard.

I don't really see the need to flat out say whose better period. That's like saying whose better in their prime Kobe Bryant or Lebron James, huh ? I would then say for which team and which position SG , All star team or bottom of the standing team? it really depends

                  • I feel Parks is better player and he still can improve.

Athleticism wise both are pretty athletic but slight edge to parks. Wright is a much better shooter but Parks is improving on that
aspect and is a better slasher.

Parks has a more complete game, able to get rebounds and assists too and defensively shut down the other player.

                    • For me, Parks still need to prove something.
He performs better when the opposition is weak.
This is the reason why I prefer that Alab should have taken either 1 local import, and the rest are pinoys or 1 non-asian import and either 1 local import/ pinoy. So that we can see whether he had really matured a lot in his play.
Alab adding 2 american imports, hide Parks inefficiency. Although I believe Parks is better overall than Wright, and offers more value than him. Well, this is also the reason why I expect much from Parks, and why I suggested those combination of players above.

                              • The Road Not Taken: Bobby Ray Parks, Jr.’s unconventional path to basketball stardom
                                By: Aljo Dolores

In making major decisions, one simply cannot take all the options available. As hard as choosing may be, something has to be given up. It’s like a general rule: be it in career, in relationships, or in life as a whole.

For some of us, it might seem like our paths were already decided even before we could make the choices for ourselves. People might expect us to follow the footsteps of someone influential in our lives, or take a certain path based on what the circumstances can offer.

Take Bobby Ray Parks as an example. As a son of a PBA legend and a kid who played—and won—at US high school basketball level, he already created a lot of buzz even before he was able to play in college. The moment he returned to the Philippines, it seemed like his destiny was already set: dominate in college basketball, and then become a star in the PBA.
