The long delayed tournament is finally happening in the Virgin Islands, July 12-16. Top three will qualify for FIBA-Americas in August:

The tournament will feature the national teams from the Bahamas, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and will be broadcasted live on FIBA’s official You Tube channel.
Mexico and PR probably the two main favorites, but wide open between the remaining Caribbean teams for third. Too bad the timing of these tournaments means no Jonquel Jones for the Bahamas.

    Puerto Rican roster:

Looks like a lot of veterans have moved on, with a bunch of new NCAA players coming into the squad. Carla Cortijo is injured but they are hoping she will be available for the Americas tournament if they qualify.

Jamaica article with list of candidates:

No Vanessa Gidden, who is probably their highest-level player at the moment but hasn't played for Jamaica since 2013. Also missing Shereesha Richards, who scored 18.8 ppg at the 2014 Centrobasket and played in Spain last year. Former UConn center Kaili McLaren is a new name, as is well-traveled NCAA gunner Antoinette Bannister.

          Bahamas article and roster:
THE Bahamas women’s national basketball team, with seven players returning from the CentroBasket championship team in the British Virgin Islands two years ago, are off to the 2017 CentroBasket Tournament. The team, coached once again by Yolett McPhe

Would guess that Virgin Islands, with a full roster and playing at home, are favorites to finish top three.

After two days the standings are:

            Puerto Rico 2-0
            USVI 2-0
            Mexico 1-1
            Jamaica 1-1
            Bahamas 0-2
            Guatemala 0-2

Hosts USVI beat Mexico, the announcers said it was the first time they had ever done that. Puerto Rico looks like the favorite at this point. Mexico-Jamaica on the last day could be the decider for third place.

Puerto Rico edged the Virgin Islands 60-58 in the last game, but the USVI still won the tournament on a three-way tiebreaker with PR and Mexico.
