    Serbia women's U20 provisional list announced :

Aleksandra Katanic (PG 175 1997 Crvena zvezda)
Katarina Zec (SG 178 1997 UTEP - NCAA)
Jovana Nogic (SF 180 1997 Providence - NCAA)
Snezana Bogicevic (SF 178 1997 Crvena zvezda)
    Sanja Dundjerski (SG/SF 181 1997 Srbobran)
    Jovana Subasic (PF/C 187 1997 Washington State - NCAA)
Anastasija Podunavac (PF 184 1997 ZKA Novi Sad)
    Ana Ilic (C 190 1997 Radivoj Korac)
Djurdjina Djokic (PG 168 1998 Crvena zvezda)
Vladana Vujasic (SG 178 1998 Student)
Lara Radulovic (SG 170 1998 ZKA Novi Sad)
Nevena Vuckovic (SG 176 1998 Radivoj Korac)
Marija Stoijljkovic (PF 188 1998 Radivoj Korac)
    Milica Bojovic (C 187 1998 Crvena zvezda)
Tamara Jovancevic (PF 186 1998 ZKA Novi Sad)
Mina Djordjevic (PF 187 1999 Crvena zvezda)

One of Serbia's best players, 193 cm C Kristina Arsenic has torn ACL in right knee two month ago. A 195 cm freshman of serbian ancestry from NCAA could have been a legit replacement to start at the center spot instead of Arsenic but the Basketball Federation of Serbia has shown not one iota of interest in her given her name and surname don't sound serbian.

It's worth to mention that Serbia played without its starting PF 6'2" Marija Stojiljkovic ('98) who got injured (knee) prior to the tournament, that Portugal was without its starting C of Bulgarian ancestry 6'4" Maria Kostourkova ('97) and that France didn't select its 6'6" C of Serbian ancestry Ana Tadic ('98).

Edit : If I were in Serbia's U20 coach shoes, I would have picked Detroit's 5'8" freshman SG Anja Marinkovic ('98) and Western Michigan 5'9" commit G Nina Farkic ('98) and Oregon 6'5" freshman C Mallory McGwire ('97) who has Serbian roots through her maternal grandfather.

Highly contested match between Italy and Latvia in a 5-8 places classification game today. Italy won 89-87 after 2ot and 5" left with a short jumper of Lucrezia Costa on a fine assist by Mariella Santucci. Both are NCAA rising sophs at UMBC and Toledo. Latvia was led by talented F/C Digna Strautmane (29 pts, 15 reb and 3 blocks) a Syracuse signee. Italian team was missing its top player Francesca Pan (Georgia Tech) for injury.

Spain won its 7th title after overcoming surprising Slovenia (winner of favorite France in sf) 73-63 in the final. This 1997 generation won gold at Euro U16 and U18 as well as silver at 2014 U17 WC. Russia is back towards the top taking bronze over a disappointing France.
Spain's Maria Araujo earned MVP honors, other All-Star five are teammate Maria Conde, big Elizaveta Shabanova of Russia and guards Annamaria Prezelj (Slo) and Agnes Studer (Hun).

Germany won Div B title led by MVP Satou Sabally.
