  • TBL Playoffs 2017

Now that quarterfinals started I`d like to know what you guys think. It`s obvious Fener is the favourite but I have a feeling that Banvit will win it al this year. I just like the core of Theodore, Furkan and Vidmar. They feel like a complete team and winning the Turkish cup showed they can beat any team in Turkey when they play their game.

Efes should just get back mentally. They play terrible since Oly games. If they don`t they can leave playoffs as early as the quarterfinals since GS is no easy matchup.

in a best of 7 series, there is very little room for surprise. Fener therefore is the heavy favorite, unless they get victory drunk, or something. Banvit will be fun to watch, sure.

Could it be another 2015-Karsiyaka incident ? I highly doubt. In 2015 we were not this good, even though we were the no.1 of the regular season, we were kind of unlucky against Karsiyaka in the first game (losing it with only 1 pts at the over-time ; 96-97) and we've underestimated them.

This time we wouldn't underestimate Dacka/Banvit in the semi-finals, and then Efes/GS/BJK in the finals. Still, it will be a couple of tough series in the both semi-finals and the finals, because every team against us will be very relax since no one would say anything against them if they lose, and Dacka/Banvit, both teams are very dangerous. Our biggest advantage here is the home court advantage against rest of the teams, we will not let another unlucky lose in Ulker Arena like happened in 2015, and then we're good.

Cedi and Granger played big tonight. Hopefuly injury of Cedi won`t effect the playofs but it didn`t seem serious. McCollum is good but keys of the offense should be always in Sinan Gülers hands.

That being already known, Fenerbahçe is the ultimate favorite for the title. After watching two games today, it is so clear that there are a lot of top-notch quality differences between the winners of today’s games and Fenerbahçe. It will be a really hard task for the team who is aiming to pull Fener’s system down. The fluidity and variety on their offensive schemes are really showy and hard to cope with their means on offense. Not to mention, they are a supreme power when it comes to defense too. Actually, Obradovic has created a team which is playing the most compact basketball that European Basketball has witnessed in the last decade at least. So, the hardness of Turkish League shouldn’t bother them much, as they broke their psychological chain at the highest level. They already take this title for granted for sure. No team can match with them in the final series where 7 games will be played.

As far as Beşiktaş goes, I think we are deserving credit for the way we are playing and what we have accomplished in league so far with this kind of limited team in comparison to Euroleague level teams. So sad there is no room for praising for this club while people keep on doing it for Banvit and Daçka. We literally have low-budget among the league of rich men, however Sarıca’s accurate basketball philosophy for a limited team caught up on the big budget difference and we have got the second spot in RS in the most competitive league of Europe. The team is superb persistent, set tempo is beyond good, the contribution of role players is impressive and the team definitely sells some hopes for the future, especially under the wings of Sarıca. He definitely knows how to get the maximum contribution from his players, were it not for, we wouldn’t have explained the roles of Şanlı, brother Güler and Veyseloğlu in this team. This season will be put on record as the first step of the long term plan of Beşiktaş Basketball. No matter we will be successful or not during playoffs this year, I am quite content with changing vision of the club for the basketball branch in a positive manner. Give at least 3-years long project to him, Sarıca will likely to lead us to glory, at least will improve the stature of basketball in Beşiktaş community.

My prediction for the QFs; Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş surpasses their opponents 2-0, Efes for 2-1, Daçka for 2-1.
Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. Perception, intelligence and morality assist it as well. The strong with less intelligence and comprehension can not cope with the less strong but with sufficient intelligence and comprehension. I like the sportsman who is intelligent, agile as well as morally upright.

I actually happened to watch this game. Both coaches used their benches heavily, and it did not look too bad. I was just afraid at one moment when Obradovic was slapping/punching Arna's back, but he was fine and played surprisingly well.
