Perlas will be re-tooled for this year's SEA Games with the recruitment of several high caliber Fil-Am girls into the team. It appears that the SEA games will not be subject to FINA rules on eligibility and as such, Fil-Ams with Philippine passports will be allowed to play as locals.

Coach Pat flew stateside to bring in UCLA's Kelli Hayes, the Molina siblings of Washington State, Chanelle and Cherilyn plus Arizona State's Arnecia Hawkins. Apart from the 5x5 team, I suspect these filams may well also form a second 3x3 team for Perlas.

So we will see a stacked thailand team with freddie lish solving the lack of serviceable point guards of thailand..Jawato can play for Indonesia...

Aquino has a number of other Fil-Am players in his radar, including Arnecia Hawkins of Arizona State, Mei-Lyn Bautista of George Washington and Gabe Bade of Sacramento State.

“Malapit ng maayos ang passport ni Hawkins. I believe she can make it to the SEA Games. Gabe Bade is a natural-born Filipina but she can’t come over in December (for the SEAG) because the US collegiate play is ongoing then,” said Aquino.

Danica Jose out of Miriam is 6’ 2” with a nose for the ball. Her dad is Bobby Jose who formerly played for UST. Tina Deacon is 6’ 1”.
