Been waiting for this thread. Ill start light. Our player development is bad that we rely too much on fil-foreigners. If given a chance we would send an all fil-foreigner team.

Yeng Guiao might as well have been a brick wall. Or wait... a brick wall would’ve done a better job for gilas. Gago

I could just imagine Gilas beating the crap out of Angola, Iran and Tunisia. If we had Tab Baldwin + Best possible lineup.

Agreed. Hard truth but Japeth is the worst player that the NT needs. 6’9 PF. Perfect international size.

Arao and Sandy, two guys credited for Ateneo's post Norman Black dark ages.

I hate Yeng's angas before the game starts. Akala mo ang daming achievement sa FIBA eh wala naman binatbat. This guy needs a big dose of humility.

Keifer obviously rusty and epitome of HERO BALL. Gusto maging hero kahit zero naman.

The reason our players arent receiving invites from outside the Philippines and the reason why scouts and coaches are not high on talents from the Philippines is because players here are not thought the right way to play ball. Players lack physical gifts, height, heft, fundamentals. In short, our players dont pass the eye test.

Filipino players also can't shoot. They can't make the normal shots may it be 2pointers or 3 pointers. all they know is dribble, iso then pass when the player can't get pass his defender.
There is no system at all.
The Yeng Guiao system sucks. Its too taxing to the players. Its "diskarte mo yan" type of system.

Sad state of the basketball development in the PHL: If you're already 25 and still a rookie with limited experience

I dont know why collegiate guys are so old. I mean, I was a sophomore at 18. And there are guys who are 20+ in college.
