LEE Dong Jun(201-80-F/C) a.k.a Daniel Sandrin. brother of Eric Sandrin
    JU Tae Su(203-82-C/F)

    KBA(Korea Basketball Association) scheduled practice together with 23 members April 30th. But players didn't join cuz condition problems. So they will get together middle of May. First trouble already happen..;;

Some playes having surgery to prepare winter pro seasons, so players will be change.(ex Hyun Joo Yup back, Bang Sung Yoon figher.. surgery)

And KBA said they will not pick old players(over born 1976) but they pick Shin KiSung and Choo Seung Gyun.. Fans blame KBA that they don't follow their own words.

KBA pick 2 half Koreans. I don't think they will very helpful for our NT. But if KBA want half Koreans or imports for NT, not pick them(KIM Min Soo or LEE Dong Jun), they had better pick Eric Sandrin(204-F-78, half Korean, brother of LEE Dong Jun) or Tony Rutland(188-G-74) or Lee Benson(211-73-C/F, married with Korean women).

SEO JangHoon out 23 roster. He has trouble with headcoach.(And also Lee Gyu Sup. maybe he will out too.)

    my 12 roster(hope)

There's an Eric Sandrin playing in Portugal, I guess it's him. American right? Didn't know he had a brother who also played basketball.

Daniel Sandrin also played in German 3rd league and Luxemburg as import.
Accoring to Korean papers Eric applicate Korean passport in 2006 june and it takes 2 month.

Usually foreinger need to spend 5 years in Korea, if he(or she) want to be Korean.(If he married with Korean, need to spend 2 years in Korea). And after spend that times, need test of Korean words and history.(that test is so difficult).

daniel(and eric)'s mother is korean so, daniel needed only test.(and took only about 4 month.)

I don't know Eric passed test or not, rumor said after test he will join KBL soon. If so, KBA can add him in NT roster.

Maybe KBA want to pick some of that players(Eric, Tony, Lee), they can help that players to have Korean passport easier. But I think KBA don't care about that.

i thought tony rutland is half filipino?or is he 1/4... and maybe 1/4 korean ei...

anyway, so all players are from KBA... is the level of play higher than KBL?

As I said before in this furum, tony rutland is half Korean.
He can understand Korean. And played KBL.
His mother is Korean, and his father is American.
His grandmother still lives in Korea.
So he can get Korean passport easily when he want.

I Know why u guys think like that.. cuz tony rutland born in RP.(When his father serve army service in RP).

And most NT players play in KBL.
    KBA is Korea Basketball Association.

Tony Rutland is of Filipino and Korean descent... and used to play professional basketball in the Middle East... also a former teammate of Allen Iverson in high school and of Tim Duncan in college...

Rutland express his desire to play for the Philippines in 2005 (??) but now he wants to play for Korea instead!... its probably because of the Philippines stupid rules for Filipino foreign-breds to provide evidence of their nationality/citizenship... and even though they have the evidence... the government looks for some holes just to get some money out of them... look what happened before to Asi taulava and Eric Menk!..

    Default ex-Korean player question

I just wanna ask, whatever happened to PG Kang Dong Hee and F Chun Hee Chul? I liked these 2 players' playing style. I last saw them maybe 8 years ago in the ABC championships, i think.

Kang was a steady freethrow shooter and could make open jumpers. I loved his drive and kick-outs to the spot-up shooters. Tough little guy too.

Chun i loved his game. Really efficient, did the dirty work, like boxing out, screening, getting rebounds. He was a great player to have in your team. Can shoot and jump a bit too.

CHA JaeYoung(195-F-85) in NT, instead of CHO SangHyun(188-G/F-76).

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Most players from KBL, except HA SeungJin(from NBDL), KANG ByungHyun(ChungAng Univ.), CHA JaeYoung(Korea Univ.), KIM MinSoo(KyoungHee Univ.)
And 2 players(YANG Hee Jong, LEE Dong Jun) are rookie of KBL, so they didn't played KBL yet.
And YANG DongGeun play in SangMu(Army team) now.

This team is absoutely not a best team, but I think they still got a chance to win Championship. That NT is young team for us, so they have less international game experience. but good thing is they don't care for pro league(than KBL stars). they will play hard. atleast that could be good experience for them.

And worst thing in that NT, with out BANG SungYoon we have no shooter. Korea NT is know for shooting game, but we have to change our style.

And coach said, after Jones Cup, he will change some players.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

and 8 of 12 played game vs USA.
and u can find some of their picture in asia-basket.(06 NT)
    http://www.asia-basket.com/KOR/nt.asp

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

And for half-Koreans, our Basketball Association or Goverment doesn't care about them. we already include 2 half-Koreans in our NT, but that is cuz they came her for PRO league's big money.
And Pro teams also don't care about half-Koreans. They already experieced failure(tony rutland). So they just wanna pick good import not half-Koreans. So another half-Korean Tony Akins(former Georgia Tech player) failed to join KBL this season.
For me, new comers like half-Koreans are fun to watch, but for NT we have to play without them. NT represente nation, so pure players have to play(atleast they have to play many years in Korea).

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Kang Dong Hee retired and now he is assistant coach of KBL team. At his last asian NT games, he beat Adil-jan from China. I think he was happy about his NT retire.
And, Chun HeeChul still play in KBL. He is still good but too old for NT. And he didn't join NT many times(about 4~5 times? injury, Army service.. etc..), but whenever he is in NT, we got good result.(97ABC, 02AsianGame Champion). So some fans still believe his back will help NT.

Yah, I remember the 97 ABC championships. Chun Hee Chul played hard all tournament long, he outhustled China's big men (Bateer, Wang Zhi Zhi and the very young Yao Ming) he was going after loose balls, running on the fastbreak, playing good defense too.
