Duda Ivkovic said the same back in 2008 when he took back the reins of Serbia senior national team and what happens next? Nothing worth mentioning.

Look at the way I identify these players (Rakocevic, Konchar, Stefanovic & Skoko included) and wonder why isn't the Basketball Federation of Serbia able to find gems like them without outside help?

If they want more players with our roots they have to show respect to those who already play pro in Europe like Nick Novak, Nick Tufegdzich, Brandon Bilbija and to those who want to do the same like Jake Raspopovich. For each of them, obtaining an european citizenship would make things much easier. Unfortunately, they are ineligible to get serbian citizenship contrary to DeMarcus Nelson, Charles Jenkins or Adin Vrabac...Go figure !!!

They should only follow players who are really promising , I know you referred Kaminsky to our basketball federation when he was little known player then , but that fell on deaf ears . They should really pay you for doing all that work for them, since they are incompetent , they can't even scout small Serbia well , I wonder if they really know Filipovic even existed , before he came to the United States, I didn't see Boris Ristanovic at this camp and he could really fight for the spot for the u18 selection.

Well, concerning Luka Filipovic ('98), I can say he was legitimately under the radar. He has experienced something of a rollercoaster journey in recent years, moving from club to club almost every off-season.

        2009/10 : Torlak Belgrade
        2010/11 : Cerak Belgrade
2011/12 : Zvezda Belgrade (Crvena Zvezda youth)
2012/13 : Koledz Belgrade (FMP youth)
        2013/14 : Cerak Belgrade
2014/15 : Zvezda Belgrade (no more Crvena Zvezda youth)
2015/16 : Vizura Shark Belgrade (didn't qualify to the Junior League of Serbia)
        2016/17 : Carnegie-Riverside HS (USA)

The big problem in Serbia is horrible work by the coaches with the very tall players , it seems that we as a country ,only accidently manufacture serviceable centers.

Bosnian 7'0" center Ibrahim Mulaomerovic ('98) who was on U18 Bosnia & Herzegovina wider list last summer, is now on the Slovenian U20 provisional list for the European Championship in Greece. First visible impact of the Bosnian withrawal from competition.

Luka Asceric has been invited to compete in the world renowned Adidas EuroCamp in Treviso, Italy.

Purdue men's basketball team will represent the United States at the World University Games from Aug. 19 to 30, 2017, in Chinese Taipei. This could have an impact on Sasha Stefanovic national team future and is something that would require a very detailed examination by the officials of the Basketball Federation of Serbia. I would not want you to be bird of ill omen, but if the World University Games are an official competition under FIBA guidelines I fear that, by playing in the event, Sasha will end up being ineligible to play later for Serbia.

Filipovic,Vasic and Sljivancanin are invited to training camp but no Apic who's' arguably the best prospect of that bunch.

Korkmaz and Yurtseven have confirmed their participation in this tournament. Korkmaz refused to play in Summer League. I am short of words. If the federation is pressing these guys to count them in to the team, then they really behave shamefully, let the guys focus on their personal developments. After this tournament, Korkmaz will be called up to senior NT as well. So basically no room for refreshment. These guys have nothing to prove at this level anymore, by calling them up, you are also being unfair to other guys for whom joining the youth NTs is a great opportunity to gain confidence and experience and taking your career one step forward. Wrong decision, need to be reviewed immediately.
Sports is not only considered as a superiority of physical capability. Perception, intelligence and morality assist it as well. The strong with less intelligence and comprehension can not cope with the less strong but with sufficient intelligence and comprehension. I like the sportsman who is intelligent, agile as well as morally upright.

Just saw that the champ is going to be held in Crete that is Greece. So this Greek generation for the second time in a row is going to play at home (2015 U18 EC was held in Greece as well).

Follow Turkish basketball here: Last EL champion Fenerbahce, Efes Pilsen, Darussafaka, CL finalist Banvit, and some powerful teams from the TBL...

He is not a stretch four, being 2.08, superb mobile PF that can also cover C, likes to play with featuring his physical tools, enough athletic, average passer and most importantly has a huge wingspan that having a huge defensive potential in stock! Hopefully, he will get Turkish passport as soon as possible so that he can play in Turkish U-20 NT next summer. International game experience is what he is missing for now, he is consequently not a well-known player among scouts, he is the hidden gem of Turkish basketball as long as potential goes.

The latest change of existing FIBA regulations on eligibilty and national status of players will definitively be a game-changer for National teams competitions, allowing countries to naturalize foreign young players. Gligorijevic and Osmani being the first notable cases.
