Davao Aguilas FC’s Harrison Sawyer leads the team to its second straight victory. Handout photo
Despite a grueling 14-hour travel by plane and by land, from Davao del Norte to Ilocos Sur, the Davao Aguilas didn’t allow fatigue to get in the way, as they replicated their success last weekend, making their second straight win for the first season of the Philippine Football League (PFL).
After their first win which took place only last Sunday at their own pitch, the Aguilas again beat the same team, Ilocos United FC.
Davao Aguilas FC scored 4 goals while the home team Ilocos United scored 2, with Harrison Sawyer doing a hat trick.
The Aussie striker's shots found the back of the net during the eighth, 44th and 57th minute of the match.

Former A-League Winger Iain Ramsay Set for Thailand Move
Former Melbourne City and Adelaide United winger Iain Ramsay is set to join newly promoted Prachuap FC for their first season in the Thai League in 2018.
The Australian-born Philippines international has been playing in the Philippines Football League with 2017 AFC Cup semifinalists Ceres-Negros FC since the start of this year, but is ready to take on a new challenge in Southeast Asia's top league.
ESPN FC understands that Ramsay will complete the 2017 season with Ceres before making the switch to Prachuap in December ahead of preseason training.
The 29-year-old recently starred in Ceres' journey to the 2017 AFC Cup semifinal -- a run that featured wins over Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta'zim and Singapore's Home United.
The Thai League is introducing an extra slot in club squads for an ASEAN player in the 2018 season. The signing of Ramsay is an indication that clubs intend to take advantage of this new opportunity.

Galaxy Pass on Coaching Skills in Manila
Coaches from MLS team LA Galaxy have helped to develop the next generation of Philippines players after their first Youth Football Day in Manila.
Galaxy coaches Wes Meadows, Job Quevedo and Chris Howe joined Mindanao-based Davao Aguilas Football Club in a training day with more than 100 children at the McKinley Stadium, in Bonifacio Global City.
The youngsters – aged from eight to 16 – came from various local schools to participate in the free event.
LA Galaxy coach Wes Meadows said: “It has been great to partner up with Davao Aguilas, their staff and players.
“Obviously for us, with 100 kids being here, we needed additional staff, and they have been very accommodating. It is great to work out and have this activity with a club here locally.

Biantan: Davao Aguilas Want Amani to be a Hero
Sunday, January 07, 2018 By JACK L. BIANTAN BIG JACK
THE Davao Aguilas want Amani Aguinaldo to be their local hero but with the Azkals center back about to sign for Ceres-Negros, he could become a local hero in Davao some other time.
If he puts his signature for Ceres today then he has to fulfill his heroisms in Bacolod where opportunities to display his heroic acts will be plenty. Aside from playing for the Philippine Football League, the club from Bacolod has qualified for the AFC Champions League elimination round where it will debut against Burmese club Shan United FC in the first round.
No question, Amani is right now the best center back in the country today that of course if he will be fit in time for the PFL and the AFC Champions League.
It is a big gamble for Ceres to sign him as he is still recuperating from an injured knee. However, according to a source in the Ceres camp, the club has assured Amani top notch medical care for him to have speedy recovery so that he could be back on the pitch as early as March or even earlier.
But why do the Aguilas want him knowing that his knee is still a suspect? Aguilas owner Jeff Cheng said they want to develop Amani as a local hero. Davao, despite of its disappointing season last year, is a big club with big ambition. Amani is from Davao and he has a big following in Davao.
Davao has signed Fil-Australian Josh Grommen, another center back who ironically played for Ceres last season. It could have been a great paring for the two young defenders in the Aguilas backline.
