Serbia versus Spain - Who has been best NT in 2013-2016?

Spain finished 3th at 2013 European Championship, defeating Serbia 90-60 in quaterfinals.

Serbia won silver medal at 2014 World Championship in Spain, with the surprising defeat of Spain in quaterfinals against France.

Spain won gold medal at 2015 European Championship, being Serbia the 4th team.

Serbia wins silver medal and Spain bronze medal at 2016 Olympics Championship. But they have not faced.

I feel Serbia got the best results, but I feel Spain was the better team. Spain I feel underachieved, first with the upset loss to France in 2014 and then the slow start to this Olympics which put them in the US bracket.

Yea, they were definitely better in 2013 and 14, but I'm not sure about 15 and 16, I feel they came down to a very similar level, so generally between 2013 and 2016 Spain was better.
I really wish they could introduce playoffs in these tournaments, and do something about brackets so teams can't tank games, this way we get some great injustices.

Spain has the nba players and nba hall of famers stronger domestic league, prime players all factors leaning on them but somehow serbia got its share in the biggest stage..but adds motivation for serbia to comoete in wurobasket tgey still nees to beat plspain and lithuania to prove they are the man in europe

I don't change my mind. In 2014 Serbia didn't play with all at the group stage, in 2013 Serbia was doing an amazing tournament but they had a really bad day vs us. Last year they were stronger, and this year we were equals.

We could be a bit above, but no too much.

In my opinion, Spain has been more powerful NT than Serbia in 2013-2016, but great respect for Serbia (especially Djordevic and Teodosic).

This essentially sums it up. Spain is (naturally) on a decline, while Serbia is rising. In all honesty, one cannot expect for this Serbia to be as good as Spain was (our 96-02 team was), but Serbia will have better results than Spain in following period. As for '13-'16, blow-outs in finals against Americans leave a shadow over Serbia's results, but I'm confident that Ser-Esp, if met in that period would have been a great and close matches that could have gone either way.

Edit - when I said met, I mean met in knockout.

Well a medal whose color is gold is the only way Serbs can prove that they are for real that run in World Cup (except in 94 when they are suspended), and eurobasket titles left and right prove their dominance with USA.
