In terms of dullest team sports nothing beats handball. Referees are such a factor there, plus for a sport with a lot of scoring many things are undefined.

Brasil men handball team winning against Poland.
Brasil ladies won in handball and volleyball, brasil men teams won their waterpolo game, volleyball game, winning in their first handball game.
but both women and men basketball teams lost their openers.

having watched both Brasil men and women handball teams and both men and women basketball teams in their opening game.
I must say atmosphere in the stands was much better in favour of handball.
of course winning and playing great helped but both teams were under dogs in their games before they started.
this actually come as a surprise 'cause Brasil has a longer basketball tradition in both men and women sport.
