  • 2016 Caribbean U16 Championship (Men and Women)

Just wrapped up in Guyana. Top three teams in each event advance to next year's U17 Centrobasket:

    Men's Tournament: http://archive.fiba.com/pages/eng/fa...hip/index.html

    Group A
    Bahamas 4-0
    Barbados 3-1
    Antigua 2-2
    British Virgin Islands 1-3
    Dominica 0-4

    Group B
    Guyana 3-1
    Jamaica 3-1
    Suriname 3-1
    Aruba 1-3
    Trinidad & Tobago 0-4

    Semifinals
    Bahamas 72 Jamaica 51
    Guyana 77 Barbados 37

Third Place: Jamaica 66 Barbados 58
    Championship: Bahamas 84 Guyana 57

Bahamas dominated the tournament, winning the group games by an average of 65 points before cruising through the knockout stage. Not sure Guyana has ever qualified for Centrobasket at any level before, and it's been a while since Jamaica was seen at youth level.
