Wouldn't be surprised if this season Alaska blows its team up and go ona rebuild mode.

the bcap restrictions should be abolished imo so that our schools and pro teams have a free hand on who can coach their respective teams regardless of nationality.
pba also should do away from a 3 conference if they really want to help the program. what is happening kasi is they are hijacking gilas program - they don't want to revive the gilas 1.0 model because it will hurt depth of draft but at the same time not giving the nt coach a leeway in preparing for every tournament we play.Attack

Not everyone of this PGs are world level,so some of them would be better off playing at a high level in the Asian tournament, dictated by size, ability and skills of course. So a 6-8 reliable players at that position is just right, gives Gilas options due to injuries and availability.

Not quick enough to keep up with CJ,I believe a Martin/CJ at PG would be too quick for those big guards to keep up.Norwood should have done the Castro thing,he should have backed out,his skills aren't at par anymore.Castro knew that he lost a step even at the Asian Qualifiers,he doesn't want to be a burden or embarrassed in the big stage.

Parks is a must,it gives the offense an option to play as a SG or a big PG who can create his own shots,I wouldn't mind the trio of Parks,Bolick and Ildefonso, yes he will be 19 by next year I believe so he's a grown man and he has experience in playing at the World level.

we should start on thinking about the future.
among the current roster, only bolick and perez are the ones i see as our future cornerstones of gilas.
after the seag and start of windows next year, we should build our backcourt and wings:
-jgdl
-bolick
-perez
-ildefonso
-parks
-e. ramos
-martin
-d. ramos
we should build the bigs:
-balty
-chiu
-go
-tamayo
-cortez
as far as the naturalized player is concerned, we probably see the last of blatche. you can sense in his body language that he no longer interested to be part of gilas. besides, ever since he joined gilas, his commitment is pretty questionable as he always comes to gilas out of shape. if we are going for a naturalized player, you better look for the attitude and his desire about playing for the philippines. brownlee, no matter how he loves the country, cannot make the cut because he is too old.
-jollibee, he expressed his desire to play for gilas. it is something you can take as positive. he is also relatively young at 24. his size, at 6'9, is also good for a power forward and can play 3 or 5 in some situations. he also has the necessary skills to be integral part of gilas - ballhandling, length, ability to drive and shooting. his court vision can be fixed.
-ange kouame, this man, at 20, is very young and he keeps on improving. he is better as a spare tire if jollibee is not available.Last edited by ja.he; 08-31-2019, 10:48 PM.Attack

Start at the PGs no more Barok's size they're a libility in defense all the time. The available pool of guys at PG should be the young upcoming and aggressive ones with fresh legs.Martin/Kiefer/CJ/Panopio/JGDL.The combo shooting guards of Parks/Bolick/Lassiter/Ildefonso/Clarkson.Replacement for Gabe who's long overdue is KP,who can play a small SF or a big SG too,at SF,Rosario/Rike/Go/Tamayo/Quiambao. The PF,Japeth is just not a world level player but still serviceable in Asian qualifiers,Japeth/EJ/Naturalize Player/Erram. At C,JF is still the main guy, time to bring up Kai as his backup.
