Looks like Saski basconia or Alba Berlin are really pursuing Kai as per Jai Reyes

If Alba Berlin U-18, he will be in a good league. Players look like grown men https://www.cbhospitalet.cat/torneo-junior-2019/

Kai will decide before or after the NBTC.. and another offer from a Spanish club in Movistar Estudiantes

    https://www.rappler.com/sports/by-sp...box=1552294406

"Siguro before NBTC or after," Sotto revealed during the Chooks SM-NBTC National Tournament presscon at the MOA Arena on Monday, March 11. "Basta this summer, hindi mahirap na mag-decide ako.”

(Maybe before NBTC or after. It won't be difficult for me to decide this summer.)

The annual nationwide high school basketball tournament, which Sotto will actively be a part of, kicks off next Monday, March 18 and will culminate in the National Finals on March 24. He is also one of the captains in the All-Star Game on March 23.

As previously reported by Sportando, the 16-year-old star big man has received offers from 4 European teams, namely the EuroLeague's Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Baskonia along with Bundesliga's Alba Berlin.

Sotto added on Monday afternoon that Liga ACB squad Movistar Estudiantes has joined the fray, bringing the total suitor count to 4 Spain-based teams and 1 from Germany.

You know, I'm not sure if Kai deferring until summer will be a problem or not for them, due to the increasing number of offers from different clubs.

In any case, it's a good problem to have.

Logically, the decision should be easy. No matter what happens regarding his overseas dreams, Sotto's pba career is already secure. But he has a chance to earn at least 10x more if he gets to the NBA. Staying here in the Philippines means kai says goodbye to the nba forever. Whatever Ateneo offers is peanuts compared to his nba salary.

yeah, just imagine clarkson's current 5 year contract converted to peso say 50m usd = more than 2.5 billion pesos subject for tax, if kai turns out to be like a gobert then he can double or triple Clarkson's, but taxes and tithes will cut his earnings, but still it will be in billions not counting endorsements

How come not one legit offer from a US NCAA Div1 school? My only reservation on this is Kai going to move like those Euro big men in the middle, which a guy like Blatche can outplay almost every single time, and we all know that when Kai is faced with rough centers he kinda backdown, both the Kiwis and the Aussie play the mobile very physical guys in the center like the American centers.Makes you wonder if Edu will be more physical and athletic than Kai down in the future and I hope that nobody call out Kai for not physical enough since they're the very fans who encouraged Kai and family to go take the Euro route.

Going to a US NCAA DivI means Kai has to wait until he finishes HS and must cut off his CTG sponsorship as it’s prohibited.

"Yung development ko as a player ang pinakaimportante kasi pwede namang hindi ako pumili ng club pero magte-train lang ako sa kanila," he said.

"Ang importante lang naman sa akin is mag-improve ako, magpagaling at magpalakas pa lalo dahil yung goal ko talaga is mag-NBA. Gagawin ko yung lahat para makapunta doon."
Kung lahat ng young aspiring basketball players ganito ang pananaw sa buhay chances are those Jurrassic minded Filipino basketball coaches ay baka makapag isip isip pa ng maayos pero kung talagang napaka tigas ng ulo at ayaw ng pagbabago especially kung ang namumuno ay pareho lang sila ng frequency chances are we cannot achieve what we want to aspire for hence our basketball development will always be in the doldrums.

    NBA Dream ba kamo?

    Here's a look at 17 y.o Tyson Chandler:

See how athletic he was back then, and at 7'1 (!)...a year removed from being picked in the NBA Draft, but you can see his vast potentials.

Fast forward 19 years, he is still serviceable and a solid center in today's NBA. His game has evolved from a jumping demon to a more grounded , classic 5.

I hope Kai wlll be like him someday.

He will definitely improve in Europe. There are many European bigs who were able to transition to the NBA. Marc Gasol played in the US IRC so he is excluded. Jokic is the top guy out there. Not that athletic but good and definitely one of the top 5 centers in the NBA. Nurkic is also good. Zubiac is a good up and coming player. You have the good role players like Marjakovic. Baynes, although Aussie, established his credentials in the Euro league.

If Kai can make it in Europe as a center, the NBA will be the next step for him.

the price might be too steep as kai wants his family to move with him. depends on the arrangement tho as ervin has to find job where he will go to.

And Kai doesn't look innately athletic compared to like porzingis at 17 so Euro style should fit him. He just needs to be solid skill wise and BBIQ like Jokic

    Move with him to Spain?

And if that’s not possible, will he decline the offer?
