If Kai's going to the Blue Grass Country, he should be made aware that John Calipari of University of Kentucky MAY not be the coach of the fabled Wild Cats next season as his name is linked to the New York Knicks' new brasses Leon Rose And World Wide Wes

    Nike hoops summit update.

Team usa will have evan mobley and walker kessler.

Team world will be announced next month. Kai Sotto, Omoruyi,Maker will be a candidate for center position.

Hope Kai will be selected, and will be given decent minutes

Looking at the roster and the list of espn top 15 centers https://www.instagram.com/p/B73yIDfBr7S/

Kai actually has a shot of making said roster, other than Makur Maker and Cliff I dont think any other international center is ranked higher

Without him there would be no championships for the lakers in that 2008-2010 era

Lakers wouldve won more if they had better big men. He gave major contributions but it's not as if they won because of him. Other teams had better bigs back then.

They had Gasol, Bynum and Odom as their main bigmen. Without Gasol i don't think they had enough to defeat the Suns or Boston in their second championship though it was Meta's crucial "rebound"(more like a push) over Richardson which changed the tide of the series against the Suns. They manhandled Dwight and the weak @ss Magic though.

Does Bynum even count lol. Seriously, those were all good players, except for Bynum of course, but none of those players were franchise player. Gasol was the closest to being one but never really got to tjay level. There were good reasons why he was called Gasoft back then but if he's on his prime today, he won't be called Gasoft because that's how basketball is being played right now

Bynum was very good and highly coveted around the before he lost his mind in Philly. But obviously Dwight was better. Odom isn't exactly a pushover and was probably the best player they got out of the Shaq trade and won 6th man of the year(?). Gasol was Memphis best player for almost a decade, and was All NBA and Allstar multiple times. I too thought he was soft until he proved himself in FIBA multiple times even breaking his foot in the process..

lol what are you smoking. bynum was drafted #10 and was an all-nba player, nba allstar, and significant contributor in 2 nba championship teams. he's had an arguably better career (despite it being cut short) than the other Andrew B who also played C and was the #1 pick in the same draft. he was also way better than dwight howard offensively.

Dwight was considered by many as the top C back then before coming to the Lakers. Bynum is better in offense while Dwight is better at defense( he was overrated defensively IMO).

With all the fan tweeting Kai's inclusion in nike hoops summit, they will surely include him. After all Nike is a business. If they will gather more viewers, they will do it.

Anyway, Kai is talented enough to play in that event even without the media advantage effect. But the fame of Kai will be the icing on the cake.

If I am the Board, I will include Omoruyi and Sotto. Maybe they can develop chemistry. Kentucky and auburn will be salivating to get these two.

Agree. Bynum was good. LA wouldn't have won without him. Gasol was always soft in NBA play. That is why Kobe's greatness comes with an asterisk for me. He needed a dominating big to win.

IMO 17 years old(3 months from now he will turn 18) Kai is softer than a 17-18 years old Pau Gasol. But NBA today is not that physical compared to NBA 90's and 2000's
