Saw the replay of the LG - SK Knights. It was a fun and uptempo game with a lot of one man upworthy. LG can't run with Seoul SK in an uptempo game as we lack the skilled finishers that Seoul SK have; namely Kim Sun-Hyung. This is where LG misses Kim Si-Rae.

Rookie Choi Joon-Young looked lost in the offense but to his merit, he was trying not to take over, but work with the dribble drive system of Moon Kyeung-Eun. What was impressive for Choi was his aggressiveness in crashing the boards and defending the wings. He will get stronger and that will help him finish strong in the basket to justify his height advantage against wingers in this league.

LG's rookie Park In-Tae reminds me of a young Ham Ji-Hoon; versatile and can shoot the mid-range shot.

Seeing Rod Benson and Kim Joo-Sung doing the heavy lifting against Goyang last night is a nice reminiscent of their championship glory years. Despite Wonju winning a close one, their execution was a bit sloppy in the 2nd and 3rd and despite a tall front-court, the younger Orions managed to out-rebound them. Turnovers almost cost them this game and that is how Goyang was able to keep it close, by scoring 19 points off turnovers from Wonju.

KGC pulled off a wildcard 3-2 zone and it stifled LG's offense in the 4th quarter. Right up to the fourth, LG was gaining momentum and were leading 70-64 until that 3-2 zone that packed in the paint and limited James Mays. Without Efevberha, a proven CBA scoring champion, LG malfunctioned greatly.

KGC is now an uptempo team as Oh Se-Keun, the once foundation of the franchise that got them into being a very good half-court team has adapted quite well into the offense. He nows runs the screens and dives to the basket for easy pickings. He also has improved stamina and lost weight to stave off pressure on his ankles. His greatest improvement is that 15-18 foot jumpshot that he hits whenever he is open.

SK's Choi Joon-Young miles ahead of his rookie batch in terms of ROY voting. Lee Jong-Hyun not playing while the rest of the rookies are struggling to get PT such as Kang Sangjae. A rookie making progress in the D-League is Cheon Ki-Bum, who is just taking over in the 4th. Soon, Cheon will get called up by the Thunder to see what he can bring into the veteran team.

SK Knights rookie Choi Joon-Young vs Busan: 16Pts 8Reb 7Asts 4Blk in stuff sheet fest. SK's new dribble drive system has been a boon for players like Choi and especially Kim Sun-Hyung.

With the season still not even on the home stretch, Incheon's Kang Sangjae is gaining momentum and league recognition. His breakout game and arrival was against champs Goyang and he was a big part of the offense where Kang showed that adept range in shooting down his former KU teammate's (Lee Seung-Hyun) club.

Choi Joon-Young now has competition for the ROY.

Moon Seonggon now producing for KGC and after much patience, he can only get better. What I like about the coaching for KGC is their continuity through assigning mentors for player development.

Kim Giyun learned from Park Chan-Hee, who learned from Kim Tae-Sol.

Now the future core of Giyun, Seonggon, Han Hee-Won and Kim Cheol-Uk will get them competitive in the long run as the likes of Oh Se-Keun are entering their prime years.

Yang Dong-Geun has joined the team in light workouts and is targeting a mid-January 2017 return date. Shooter Lee Daesung will also return in February 2, 2017 while Lee Jong-Hyun could debut early in February. Playoffs still a possibility at this point in time with the strong play of Charles Rhodes and Ham Ji-Hoon.

Byun Ki-Hoon's hip injury will cost him games worth about 3 weeks for Seoul SK. This one hurts as SK Knights lose their three point threat. In 3 weeks however, big man Choi Bu-Kyung will return from the military.

KBL 2017 All-Star game has a younger feel and heralds the changing of the guard with the parade of Kim Jong-Kyu, Lee Seung-Hyun, Kim Junil, Lee Jae-Do, Song Kyochang and Kim Ji-Hoo into the mix.

KCC's Kyochang and Ji-Hoo have been pacing the team as of late. Well deserved selection.

Im Dong-Sup exploded for 25pts against SK and it was a pivotal win for Samsung to start the 4th round. Good fight put up by Seoul SK.

Goyang's Lee Seung-Hyun fell awkwardly and bent his left ankle. Team officials fear the worst -- a fractured ankle.

Update: No fracture for Lee Seung-Hyun, only a hyper-extended ligament. Out 4 weeks but the good news is that Aaron Haynes is back in form.

Lee Jong-Hyun will finally debut for Ulsan Mobis after a lengthy absence. His debut will be up against Samsung but Yoo Jae-Hak will regulate his minutes for the remaining games this month.
