Reason is RBF infighting with previous management concerning 2013 elections. New RBF elections were ordered by a Russian court to terminate inside fight. The current RBF president Yulia Anikeeva was elected in 2013 defeating former WNBA player Svetlana Abrosimova.

FIBA chairman Muratore was in Moscow at the recent WU19 WC where he met RBF president Anikeeva, declaring his positive appreciation on the event organisation and nothing was unveiled about this issue.
Interesting to see what will happen with Russia participation in the next international tournaments, ie U16 Euro (Men's and Women's 2016 U17 WC qualifier) in August and Men's EuroBasket qualifier for Rio in September.
