Yeah, I like what Miško is doing with Mega, there are only few cases like that out there, closest being the Latvian U18 selection playing in their national league - that kind of indicates the level there, but I'm certain it played some noticable role with their junior team's succes lately.
That's a part of transition Slovenian basketball seriously lacks nowadays (unlike in the 90ies) and the likes of Dimec or Bolčina are wasting time seating behind the guys playing for peanuts whose only advantage is being a few years older without as high of a ceiling, while good talents as Kavaš brothers, Krampelj now Kodrin (all decent SF/PF's potentials) and others get lost mostly to some NCAA div II teams. Most of them are far from Luwawu or Zagorac level, but should otherwise develop into some nice ABA level players. Dissaster considering our already narrow talent pool.
The way things look as of this moment, Mega and Metalac will likely end up in the upper half of the ABA standings. I think Olimpija should be up there in that group as well, however "ABA rookies" such as Zagorac, Lapornik, Nikolič are yet to be seen on that level with constant minutes, all 3 of them limited in some aspects, Vučetić still lacks some muscles although reportedly has great work ethics and good head, Mesiček is still just 18 and Čančar won't be contributing noticably within the rotation for at least one more season. If half of those makes some steps in the positive direction in that transition to ABA level, than we're good. 5 years ago, I'd be a pesimist, but the level of mid-level teams somehow isn't the same now.
