We're about a week out and by now we've seen the friendlies and have a good idea of the rosters. So what do you see happening in the tournament. I'm sure someone will make a prediction game (not me), but this is more for general predictions.

*Spain is fully capable of winning this gold medal and it would not surprise me if they did. It's a question of will coming from the harder bracket make them tougher or wear them down? I feel it will wear them down.

Spain (If they cant finish first on their own, surely the refs will have a say)
Serbia (Strong, well prepared team that always does great at the Fiba Worlds)
Brazil (I want them to finish first, but those free throw shooting of their big men will cost them games...)
Iran (Surprise team, they will do a Lebanon on Parker-less France)

Group B

Greece (Sorry, as a puerto rican I cant not pick this team over everybody else. Its the nightmare team.)
Puerto Rico (My team, no bias over here)
Argentina (Scola; wouldnt be suprised if he takes them to the top of the group either)
Croatia (Theyve looked like the strongest in the preparation games, but something about them doesnt convince me, mainly those close games they tend to lose.)

USA (They suck)
Turkey (Overall experience gets them to second)
Ukraine (Newcomer, but theyve looked really good)
New Zealand (Dark Horse, might move to second)

Group D

Australia (Played really well so far)
Slovenia (Fear the Dragics)
Lithuania (If they play like they did against Slovenia, Brazil and New Zealand, this is where I expect them to end up)

After wathcing almost all team play, there are 2 giants Usa and Spain and all other gonna fight for the bronze but this is in only a theory because brackets are strangely built this how i see this world cup playing out :

I just can't see how this inexperienced and small US team can beat Spain on their home court under FIBA rules...it usually takes heroic efforts from the best american players jut to edge Spain somehow and now they don't have neither Lebron, Kobe, nor Durant to make that vital push against spaniards. They beat Canada twice, Greece, and Mexico.

They lost by one to Serbia, by 10 to France, and then there was that ridiculous game against Spain who shot 42 free throws to beat them by just 14.


So they are 4-3

Puerto Rico is 2-2 (W-Angola, Argentina) (L-Turkey, USA)

Greece is 5-3 (W-Serbia, Slovenia, New Zealand, Turkey-x2) (L- France, Croatia, Lithuania)

Argentina is 3-2 (W- Angola, Brasil, Mexico) (L- Serbia, Brasil, Puerto Rico)

So yeah, Croatia the most impressive of Group B
