Only problems that are lacking are chemistry, experience and playing more preparatory games before this championship... On a positive note.. now that Fadi Khatib is no longer playing with the NT this team is much more difficult to scout and we are not relying on just 1 player to carry the team... we have a group of players who can step up when required.. and I'm happy that this team is being able to perform without the services of Khatib since many people were saying that the team is doomed without him on the team
OT: I like it that your team is doing fine even without Fadi, how much more if you have him now. You can possibly beat Korea and China to top Group F with Fadi.

Also, Wael Arakji just might be the face of the future for Lebanese basketball. He may be prone to rookie mistakes due to lack of experience, but he will get better over time.

Dear Khalid with all due respect, I have to say that if you compare your situation to ours you're gonna be really happy with what the Lebanese basketball has been through.

The head of Iranian basketball federation just got elected 4 months ago and the head goach Dirk Bauermann got the team under his supervision just 70 days before the tournament began.
Add the Arsalan Kazemi dilemma and you'll get a clear view of what Iran has been through this 3 months.

On the other hand i can hardly believe your financial problems were as severe as Iran's. Other wise you wouldn't be using a naturalized player and a foriegn coach.

Not playing in the Jones Cup was mostly because Matic prefers to go in the dark when it is close to a major tournament, he insisted on not joining such tournaments while being in Iran but the federation usually over ruled his opinions.

Our team also had problems. Team trained only for 7 weeks under new coach and new system and a lot of players declined to play for.the team.

Yet your team is still dominating the competition and is still the heavy favorite to win the gold. That's why your team is awesome.

Behzadir jahn, I totally understand what you're saying... With regards to financial problems.. well we went for the most convenient or least costly for us Cuz the federation talked to much better coaches (like Elias Zouros for example) and the first option for naturalization was Eli Holman who played in CBA these last couple of years and was one of the top big guys playing there... Also since Fadi Khatib didn't joint the team this meant that the federation didn't have to cover his insurance which wasn't a small amount so they used this money instead for Jay Youngblood and to pay the penalties from withdrawing from Asian Championship for woman.

About Jay Youngblood, what's good about him is that he's been playing in the Lebanese league for the last 5 years so he knows all the players quite well and could easily adapt to the team even if he didn't work out with the NT this summer and joined the team directly in China

Regarding Matic, yeah it's true.. It seems he's the type that doesn't like to show any of his cards.. and it's working cuz this Lebanese team is quite difficult to scout especially considering that there are 8 players who are playing for the first time with the Lebanese NT.. So maybe by this he helped the federation save money from not playing in these tournaments even though most of the fans and basketball analysts and critics were against this

Imagine a triple-tie in the group E between Qatar , Jordan and Lebanon..
what will happen? it will depend on quotient? if yes why last edition why Tapei was behind Philippines while they had a better points difference
