I agree with them. He is a long way from nba ready center.

You know,in the end of the day he got what he wanted . He got drafted. Out of all them thousands and thousands college players in USA, there is this one guy from Europe who did not know how to play basketball five years ago, yet... it is a remarkable achievement for him , and for Zalgiris as well. Unlike Valanciunas and lrytas association ,this one was truly due to both parties working hard together .
And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Zalgiris 17 times in a row.

Well Kalnietis looks rusty and far from his pre-injury self yet still the guy who reads the game best in the whole summer league most likely. It's funny how reporters mentioning he's not an athlete while we used to think he's at least a bit of an athlete.

btw stauskas never showed interest in lithuanian citizenship.

No reason to hate and judge, when you dont know the whole story.
I hope that guy got banned. So ignorant and offensive to any foreign posters with Lithuanian origins here. And I'm sure his views are not reflective of Lithuanian people.

Anyone things Domantas Sabonis could enter NBA soon ( ? )
On August 13, 2015, ESPN placed Domantas Sabonis 20th in the 2015-16 season NCAA players ranking, describing him as one of the best, and edgiest, rebounder.I thing its just a matter of time.If he plays in the Eurobasket 2015 this year with Lithuania and is successful or wins a medal this could be a huge boost for him,and this would open many opportunities for him.

I think the biggest boost for him will increased playing time in Gonzaga next season. he should average double double there.

Well, Sports Illustrated named the best NBA players for the next season. If that wouldn't be some big name, I would just say it's not worth attention because it seems they don't really get it, very superficial understanding of players. Motiejunas is 98 and such players as Josh Smith who was literally a back-up for D-Mo most of the time he spent in Houston is ranked higher. He was no-where near to production D-Mo delivered for Houston. Tons of players who ranked higher than D-Mo. The biggest rebuke for Dmo is his rebounding (Sports Illustrated) while actually his rebounding per 36 in the category of the best 4 in the league (only slightly below) and surely not as small forwards Anyway, D-Mo is just not hyped, underrated player and the hell with that, but seriously to rank him so low while he was basically was the main option after Harden for TOP4 team in the league (well one of the best regular season teams in the west) till his injury is total fail. JV is ranked 77 and he never got the role even close to what DMO was doing for Houston (not to mention bunch of players who had lower roles than JV had). DMO was vital with his ball movement, low scoring ability even in the clutch and universal, very solid defence. I found this list absolutely funny and that's not even about D-MO, it's some fantasy bullshit...Seems like everything is about hyping in NBA. Well, DMO will have to make some noise in the playoffs to make a name for himself I guess. Most of reporters still seem to treat him as some awkward unathletic white big as it seems If DMO is 100% healthy he will give them couple of lessons.

Seems like I started this thread for a reason. Here's an idea - we'll have 4 first round picks in 10's (coming in short 5-6 years period) and there's a good chance 2 of them will be TOP 10 picks. Sounds pretty good? How that could happen? JV, D-MO, Sabonis, Sedekerskis. 2 latter projected as first round picks, Sabonis might be among top 10. We can mention Gudaitis is drafted as well. For comaprison it was only Kleiza as first round pick in 00's and only Ilgauskas as first round pick in 90's. Euroleague's situation is not as good as it used to be, but Lithuania might fundamentally increase the troop in NBA.

Strange that Karnisovas was never drafted even if he rocked in NCAA. There were even reasons like "too intelligent, typical Euro player"

But who cares though..If almost half of them never been in the NBA or barely made any impact..Andriuskevicius Seibutis Javtokas Zukauskas, I doubt Gudaitis will ever actually play there when looking at his current situation and things are not looking good with Motiejunas. Currently Ilgauskas is the most successful Lithuanian in the league. I think JV can surpass him, has enough time.
