There will be 6 teams for the 16th July tipoff of the new season, 2 of the new teams are highlighted in bold.
Hi-Tech Bangkok City is the premier team in the Thai Basketball League (Thailand Division 1 basketball) while Laskar Dreya
is a collaboration between Indonesian National Basketball League (NBL) side Hang Tuah Sumsel IM and Division 1 side Dreya Indonesia.

    Teams

    Hi-Tech Bangkok City
    Laskar Dreya South Sumatera

    SM BritAma
    Saigon Heat
    Singapore Slingers
    Westports Malaysia Dragons

Sadly, no pinoy team...though I believe the Thai and Indonesia side will provide good competition too. Anyone knows what players to look out for? Any Star players?

I think you can find the roster of those teams from their own league website.
Did a search and Hitech Bangkok (Or Hitech Chonburi) has 2 imports Justin Howard and Jamelle Cornley.
they won many championships for the Thai division 1 side so I say their level is pretty high.

Laskar Dreya's standard should be lower, no mention of their imports too.

This is a pretty good team, Hassan Adams used to play for the New Jersey Nets and could be the best player in the ABL now. Slingers could vie for the championship.

The latest now is that the Thai-side Hi-Tech Bangkok City and Malaysian Westports Malaysia Dragons are going to duke it out in the finals this saturday.

I have a blog going on about the basketball scene in the ABL (http://tonesanddefinition.wordpress.com/) and a facebook page by the same name(Tones & Definition). You can check it out.
