  • Basketball Training Tips

I am a passionate enthusiast of basketball and if you are like me, then you have landed on right place. I enormously love basketball, whether I’m watching, playing, training kids or providing information in this blog. In this post, I have brought few effective basketball training tips that can highly help to improve the performance in game.

Basketball is a game that requires high efforts and more energy. First point I want to hammer in ever player’s head that have proper nutrition. Proper nutrition provides you more energy for workouts and without workouts you cannot maximize the stamina. Therefore, have proper nutrition to improve your gains from your training.

How you practice and train, reflects from how you play when it counts. Well, basketball is a high intensity sport. Train yourself at high intensity, because it helps you to improve the performance.

Get yourself an accurate partner to train with whether a friend, parent, teammate or coach. A partner can help you in motivation and that can push harder to get more out of your training. A partner can time and spot you, catch, pass and many other things to help you with training.

Set a schedule for your training and determine what aspects you are going to work on your game. A schedule will help you to stay dedicated rather than wasting your valuable time on thinking what to do next. If you stick to your schedule and worked accordingly, you probably won the half battle. And as mentioned above having a partner is helpful because here also he can help you to prevent slacking off from the set schedule and workout.

Work on your core strength. Find out some core exercises that can help you making stronger, provide more endurance and makes your muscles work more effectively together. This will help you to train at high intensity.

Don’t forget to stretch after workout. Warming up is necessary but stretching also important as provides flexibility, muscle recovery, prevents injury and helps you become stronger. It keeps you lean by elongating the muscles.

Just like nutrition, proper rest is also important. It helps you to recover from your workouts and helps to get enough energy to train again. Make sure you take proper rest and stay away from alcohol other harmful substances like tobacco.

The main training tip that I can give is never give up. When you feel like quieting just remember why you started to train in the first place. No matter if you are working on your shot, hops or handles, the same principle applies. I can remember that hours of training that I put in and some days i just wanted to give up and go home. Those are the days that define what type of player you are. If you go home you will never break the ceiling that is holding you down.

My training focuses on increasing players verticals. Mainly because I just like dunking and always had a fascination with it ever since I was little. I uses a program to get my vertical up to 37" inches. this program is called Vert Shock, I can leave a link to a review that I found so you can check it out. https://basketballmentality.com/vert-shock-review/ I am not saying go out and get this exact one, but this training is what got me a dedication level that I have not achieved before. Programs like this no matter if you working on your shot, handles or hops it will instill a work ethic in you that will follow for years.

If you want results then the program makes you work hard. Teaching you that working hard will get you where you wanna be. Remember the old saying that "hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard" because it is true. I hope this pep talk inspires you!

Agree totally with a lot of the points you made. Nutrition and proper rest are often overlooked considering they're propagated as pretty common advice, but your diet and recovery can easily make or break your gains (I'd also suggest looking into supplementing). Yet another area that gets overlooked is stretching; personally, I use it just to get myself into the motion of doing something which helps break that layer of procrastination as I ease myself into the exercise. That being said, it offers plenty more benefits, most notably warming the muscles and getting them activated in preparation for the session, which helps to reduce the likelihood of incurring injuries.

Obviously, on training the body, there's plenty of ways to go about it, but I think you're on the right track with focusing on core training, which improves stability and balance. I'd also add plyometrics and weight training to the mix, in large part because:

      a. Plyometrics are going to give you that explosiveness you need on the court in order to really dominate and efficiently play.

      b. Weight training will develop not only bone density, but naturally your strength, which will help all around.

Another benefit of using these exercises, particularly when it comes to basketball, is in increasing your vertical jump, which also leads to an increase in athleticism. If you aren't familiar with jump training, I'll refer back to a helpful article, but basically, it's a case of developing the fast-twitch muscle fibers and using them more often to improve muscle recruitment and overall power. The benefit of this is becoming a better defender when it comes to blocking shots, and a better offensive player when it comes to rebounding and dunking.

I don't want to go too in-depth with this topic, but if you're interested in reading more I invite you to read up on jump training programs since they encapsulate everything jump training related all in one place. My personal recommendations are the Vert Shock Program and The Jump Manual, either of which can work wonders in making you a more athletic player.

Something I really appreciate you going into is more so practically step you can take to train yourself mentally, such as having some like a friend or coach holding you accountable and setting up a schedule to keep yourself focused and on task. I'd say there isn't much light shone on the mental training that sports players undergo, but it seems like an extremely important subject that deserves much more attention. Like with professional basketball players, you'll have them undergo habitual preparation, visualization sessions, and blocks of time dedicated to goal-setting (if you aren't familiar with these terms refer to this page).

Finally, you mentioned how the way you train reflects how you play, and yet again this is another crucial concept to get down. It isn't enough to practice separate skills in isolation; the goal is to develop movements that are transferable into in-game situations, and what better way is there to do that than to practice as if you were actually playing (this means playing a high-intensity and replicating real in-game scenarios such as being pressured by a defender and so forth.)

Basketball skills can be broken down into two primary categories: Offensive skills: shooting, rebounding, passing, and dribbling. Defensive skills: blocking, stealing, and again, rebounding.

I decided to play basketball professionally and so I made the decision to move to another city. I just lived in a small town and there was no opportunity to play basketball professionally here. It turns out that moving is so exciting and it's a big responsibility, especially if it's a long distance move. I had to contact long distance move company thanks to them for making my move fast and quality. If you are going to move, this company will definitely help you to make everything cool

Ballin' hard starts with eating right and training intense, like a champion, not a couch potato. Grab a motivational buddy (think Kobe & Shaq, not solo practice) and plan your plays, don't just wing it. Whether it's dominating on the court or exploring the captivating realms of Space XY on Crash Gambling Hub, strategic play is key. Build a strong core (think Giannis' drives, not a weak foundation) and stretch it out like a pro (injury-free seasons, not the sidelines). Finally, rest and recover like a champ, not a burnout. Follow this, and you'll be ballin' like a star - drills and stretches on demand, just ask!
