For Kobe to make it he needs to emphasize on rebounding, hustling, and quickly pick up defensive schemes from a coach to get a shot. Defense is an important pre-requisite for any level entry position in an NBA roster roster. Especially for an undrafted guy.

There is only one basketball and a majority of NBA guys were the Man at one point of their High school, College or a previous franchise. A majority of NBA players can score but not a lot can do the dirty work like rebounding, hustling, or playing defense.

The NBA is a star powered league with a hierarchy, say Kobe makes it. Realistically he will only get anywhere from 3-6 shots a game at best but he has to average 36-40 % from 3 since he will just be a floor spacer in any team since coaches wont invest tin unknown guys. But say he shoots below that, being a good defender will compel coaches to give him playing time.(Andre Roberson is a good example and in Gilas thats Norwood's main job really)

Understand that for Gleague guys and non drafted players, they won't be given any greenlight. They have to fight and do all the little things to not get replaced. Kobe has to be a blue collar player to make it. Its not skill set that Kobe doesn't have, its work ethic. Look at an out of shape Jared Dudley who still has a job. He and other defensive guys like PJ Tucker prove anyone can play defense if they are willing to work hard, study up defensive schemes, and hustle.

Kobe's handlers also needs to see what Jonathon Simmons did. He was a community college basketball player and undrafted guy who had to pay $100 bucks to try out with the spurs. He like Kobe is a 6'5 athletic Iso Slasher with 3 point range and limited off the dribble. However, Simmons earned his way to the Gleague with defense and work ethic in the summer league roster. Pop was impressed and signed him to the Spurs roster. After playing a few years, he developed a few more skills and received a contract over 10 million dollars.

Kobe doesn't need to be Luka to make it. What he does need is to play good D, do the little things, have a consistent shot and be humble. The NBA and other leagues will consider him if he becomes that guy.
It's actually pretty unrealistic to expect Kobe to play similar to Doncic or any player for that matter. It's unnecessary to be just like any other player. You can take little bits and pieces from anyone's game but you don't need to copy any player. What Kobe needs to do is maximize what he already has, be consistent with everything and play D like there's no tomorrow. Also, you forgot the fact that length is imperative to be an effective defender. That's why players with longer wings span tend to play better D than those with shorter ones. They don't measure all of those things in the draft combine for no reason.

Playing the role of a 3 and D guy is far easier than being Point forward and triple double machine like Luka.

Every championship team has a 3 and D guy, that role has been in demand in the Nba since the 3pt line was invented. Gm's and coaches are in demand of guys who can shoot and can play D to support the Franchise players.

Once again Jared Dudley,Josh Hart, Eduardo Najera, Shane Battier and Bruce Bowen aren't athletic, talented or long but stuck in the league due to their desire to play smart and hard.

Jonathon Simmons who I mentioned only has a 6'7 wingspan and he shut Harden down in the Playoffs few years ago by playing smart by not getting tricked into fouls and forcing him to bad shots. That's what got him 10 Million.

Jimmy Butler who is an elite defender has a 6'8 wingspan but its his attitude and hard working nature is what makes him good at D. Unless Kobe has a 6'4 and below wingspan, I don't see why he can't be a hard nose defender.

Devean George who was a DII guy was given a shot by the Lakers in the 3-Peat era because he was a 3 and D.

-For Kobe its learning the playing schemes quick to earn the trust of the coach and staff during tryouts, there are drills they do to see how fast your adaptability and learning is. (This what ultimately benched him in College, he wasn't trusted in the system)

Then its the performance aspect by staying infront of the guards ,bodying up in the post, and knowing his rotation all during a switch that all NBA teams use to create mismatches.

    His name is Tyler Bey.

In the Philippines, our rookies are getting older and older while in NBA they are getting younger and younger.

in 10 years, we will be drafting 40 year old guys and the NBA will be drafting freshmen highschool kids. lol
