      Iran-Jordan stats

Good game overall against Jordan, they had most of their best players but they looked completely out of shape. Rasheim was just a shadow of himself.

for Iran only Davari had almost a bad game, the rest were ok.

good to see Sohrabnejad in NT once again, I wonder why he retired in first place ! he could play a crucial role for the NT without Arsalan.
Aren is slowly getting Kamrani's time in the national team, Mehdi Palang is still the best but the gap is getting closer and closer.

really sad to repeat it again, it was the first match in Iran after 9 years ! wow. the last match was in WABA 2004.

I feel that our team for the upcoming FIBA Asia 2013 games could potentially be the best we have ever had with the experienced veteran players of the golden era about to hit 30 and a number of very talented younger players that could make great contributions to this team and bring the championship trophy home for the third time.
Our front court has never been any stronger and more intimidating than now with Haddadi (with a better season at Phoenix so far)and Kardoust at 5and Kazemi(with a great season at NCAA) and Sahakian at 4.
It’s the ministry of sports, the federation and coaching staff’s responsibility to fully support the team and their preparation for the games, keep the players (especially the veterans) motivated and financially reward the players and staff the same way that they support the football team.

Nice list! Why didn't Yonas Lahlezadeh make this list? Or his level hasn't been consistent and he isn't good enough to make it?

Edit: Found out that Yonas is in the States and has tryouts with D-League teams

The "Team Melli" has officially started it's training sessions from Tuesday 28th of March. With Hamed Haddadi being with the team from the very first day, Iran shows it will get prepared with its best players for the Asian Championship in Manila.

On the coaching staff we had a very very promising and utterly surprising addition! Mehran Shahintab who was known as one of the biggest(if not the biggest) arch-enemy of the current federation has replaced Boban Mitiev as Memi Becirovic's top assistant. Shahintab is easily one of the top 3 domestic coaches IMO.
Kudos to both Shahintab and the federation for setting aside their bitter relations to help basketball get a major boost on the national stage.

Arsalan Kazemi is the only noticeable absentee from the roster. He is preparing and working out for teams to get a shot at this years NBA draft. AK is currently working out in LA. Arsalan said he will try to get to represent the country after draft day which is 27th June.

Also Sooren Derboghosian hasn't arrived in Iran yet to join the team. I haven't heard a clear date on which he will get to train with the team.

In other news Sajjad Mashayekhi, Saleh Forootan and Behnam Yakhchali whom their name was listed on the roster are training with the U19 NT for the World Cup which will be played in the Czech Republic later this month. Also Emad Salmani has been ruled out of the training camp because of disciplinary matters.

All other players have introduced themselves to the NT coaches and are going through conditioning and tactical workouts for the first 5 days.
