The 1930 Chechen born basketball player who stood at a whooping 236cm, weighed 160kg and wore a 58 size shoes was one of the most noteworthy players in the 1950s and most likely the tallest one, at the time.
Unfortunately due to his Chechen ethnicity, the Physical Education major who had a fairly good shooting and passing technique as well as positioning, wasn’t selected in the USSR National Team for the 1952 and 1956 Olympic Games (where Soviet Union ended up second to USA in both tournaments).
