Every offseason (and it is not even offseason now), the team that is being linked to most players in European basketball is Maccabi Tel-Aviv. There is no need to pay attention to rumours. Right now, Duncan isn't playing that good of a series against Maccabi. In any case, he is not being considered to be a worse player than Pat Calathes. But different players in different circumstances... Nick Caner-Medley was also playing well for Valencia but cannot hold his own even against domestic competition in Israel.

Actually, players agents like to spread rumours. Maccabi is a very successful club, usually with good scouting. So, when a player is being brought together with Maccabi, other teams start paying attention to him. It's the most usual stuff and comes every offseason. 20-30-40 are being mentioned with Maccabi somehow. It doesn't mean that Maccabi is indeed interested in more than 1-2 of them.
