Three players of Cape Verde have been barred from playing due to eligibility concerns.
The players Brendan Monteiro (USA), Jean Claude (SEN) and Pedro Silva (POR) played the first game but sat out the last two.
CV's federation is currently trying to make them eligible by tomorrow.

I don't understand the FIBA rules. Wy they barred 3 players with Cape Verde nationality?
Those players have there portuguese real name 's goted from there parents who were from Cape Verde.
The situation its similar with the americans in Nigeria.
Country's like Lybia and Rwanda played with players with fake nationality and identification.
This is the DOLLAR TALKING...SHAME ON FIBA.

With a win over Senegal, Cabo Verde would be in Afrobasket 13. Otherwise they are playing a do-or-die against Mali.

How do they separate teams on the same points?

If it's overall points differential, Cape Verde could beat Senegal, but would still not quite be qualified, as Mali and Senegal could both finish on 4 wins and 2 losses as well (Senegal beats Mauritania, Mali beats Mauritania and Cape Verde).

If it's head-to-head points differential, it would go down to the points scored in the matches not involving Mauritania - in which case, Cape Verde could still go out even if they beat Senegal.

According to Kitana Cabral (President of the Cape Verdean Basketball Federation), Ryan Gomes could represent Cape Verde in the 2013 Afrobasket.

Seems only 4 teams have turned up, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo and Cameroon.

Gabon forfeited their place, and it seems Chad withdrew due to a lack of funds. So, 3 of the 4 teams will qualify for Afrobasket 2013.

                      Results:

30 Sep - Central African Republic 80-53 Congo
1 Oct - Central African Republic 79-58 Cameroon
                      2 Oct - Cameroon 69-60 Congo
2 Oct - Central African Republic 74-68 DR Congo
                      3 Oct - Cameroon 87-63 DR Congo
                      4 Oct - Congo 92-81 DR Congo

5 Oct - Central African Republic 63-54 Cameroon
                      5 Oct - Congo 74-73 DR Congo
                      6 Oct - Cameroon 67-64 DR Congo
6 Oct - Central African Republic 71-64 Congo
                      7 Oct - Cameroon 62-59 Congo
7 Oct - Central African Republic 69-77 DR Congo

                      Standings:

                      5/1 Central African Republic
                      4/2 Cameroon
                      2/4 Congo
                      1/5 DR Congo

DR Congo have been eliminated. The other 3 teams will play at Afrobasket 2013.

Central African Republic could enlist the services of Romain Sato and James Mays of the Springfield Armor (NBA D-League) for next year's Afrobasket.

Zone VII qualifiers will be in Seychelles in late February/early March. (Madagascar, Seychelles, Comoros, Mauritius) - 1 team to qualify. Réunion and Mayotte may take part as guests.

Zone VI - not heard any news of when this is - I presume there will be 2 teams to qualify from this zone. (Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe)

Why in the world do they get three teams out of four into the Afribasket? FIBA Africa is messed up. Website is a complete joke and no news about the other regional qualifiers.
