Papaloukas is the most over-rated european player ever. When i came to this forum i was saying that, and now i'm saying the same. yes, he's the leader (sometimes!), he's the fighter. He has some skils, but he's no way in the list of best European players ever. Last year he had only one good game in Euroleague final. Players like Sabonis, Petrovic, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius was playing the same every game.
LTU NT will snatch Eurobasket 2029 title with this roster:

    Jokubaitis, Marciulionis, Laurencikas
    Indrusaitis, Brazdeikis, Rubstavicius
    Buzelis, Lelevicius
    Murauskas, Sirvydis
    Tubelis, Krivas

for me it goes like this
cosic, sabonis, kukoc, nowitzki, petrovic, galis, dalipagic, bodiroga, marculonis, divac, gasol, radja, djordjevic, bjelov, jasikevicius, paspalj, meneghin, danilovic, gianakis, parker, delibasic...

it seams for me that today there is maybe biger number of good players but there were more superstars in 80is and 90is
            Jordi Bertomeu sucks!

Yes, I think that's true. But it's also a sign that the gap between superstars, good and bad players shortened, with the quality raising.

                    2) Nick Galis
                    3) Drazen Petrovic

The rest are quite far from that

                      Tier 1:
                      Sabonis
                      Gasol
                      Nowitzky

                      That's pretty clear to me.

                      Tier 2:
                      Here things come harder.

Cosic, Petrovic, Kukoc, Galis probably all make the cut. Hard to put anyone else without making a 20 or 25 names list

I can't compare Lithuanian legends with europeans, so I made 2 lists.

                          European:

                          1.Drazen Petrovic
                          2.Dirk Nowizki
                          3.Dejan Bodiroga
                          4.Pau Gasol
                          5.Vlade Divac

                          Lithuanian:

                          1.Arvydas Sabonis
                          2.Sarunas Marciulionis
                          3.Sarunas Jasikevicius
                          4.Rimas Kurtinaitis
                          5.Arvydas Macijauskas

I understand leaving Ilgauskas out but Macijauskas over Paulauskas, Homicius or Karnisovas?

It's hard to compare (at least for me) all these players to Paulauskas, who is from older generation and played in a different era.

I agree that Macas doesn't deserve the spot - he could have been in the TOP 5 if not for the injuries, but his career was just too short...
