Yes, I think that's true. But it's also a sign that the gap between superstars, good and bad players shortened, with the quality raising.

Again, please respect the forum rules. No non-english posts allowed. As I read in your other post, you're definitely capable of posting in English. ;-)

    1) Arvydas Sabonis
    2) Nick Galis
    3) Drazen Petrovic

The rest are quite far from that

    Tier 1:
    Sabonis
    Gasol
    Nowitzky

    That's pretty clear to me.

    Tier 2:
    Here things come harder.

Cosic, Petrovic, Kukoc, Galis probably all make the cut. Hard to put anyone else without making a 20 or 25 names list

I understand leaving Ilgauskas out but Macijauskas over Paulauskas, Homicius or Karnisovas?

It's hard to compare (at least for me) all these players to Paulauskas, who is from older generation and played in a different era.

I agree that Macas doesn't deserve the spot - he could have been in the TOP 5 if not for the injuries, but his career was just too short...

Not in any order, but guys like,

Belov, Dalipagic, Kosic, Korac, Djordevic, Danilovic, Petrovic, Dirk, Pau, Divac, Galis, Marcilionis, Navarro, Kukoc, Bodiroga, Stojakovic, Parker, Spanoulis, Kirilenko, Diamantidis, Papaloukas, Jasikevicius, Radja, Siskauskas, Corbalan, Luyk, Brabender, Schrempf, F. Christodoulo, Epifanio, Giannakis, E. Rodriguez, Savic, Kicanovic, D. Meneghin, Martin...

Those are names that come to mind. Probably, you can pick the top 25 from this group. I probably forgot a few, but that's some of the best of all time.

    best european players 1980-2012

1.D.Nowitzky after he lead his team to nba title i cant write him below anybody from europe...

2.A.Sabonis he was making big impact on the whole game just standing inside on one healthy leg and show euroleage at age of 39,that this kind of player comes once in 50years (2m20 shooting 3pointer and passing like PG,we wont see such player soon)

3.D.Petrovic best shooter i have seen ever...just cold blooded killer...

4.P.Gasol he is a winner and remarkable tallent, but he misses character that 3 players ahead of him had.2011m playoffs vs dallas, great players dont give up like that...

5.N.Galis scoring machine, really was fun to watch Nicos games.

6.A.Kirilenko for me he is the most underated player in europe. How Andrey is playing this game on both sides,Dr.Naismith would have been proud ...

7.S.Marciulionis he was the strongest guard i have ever seen.1m95 and weight like 100kg pure muscles.Nobody could handlle his drive to basket...

8.J.C.Navarro he is like XXI. century "Petrovic" just killer...

9.D.Bodiroga slow, cant jump but real winner and europes larry bird version...

10.T.Kukoc he missed winner attitude to me,but introduce to world that over 2m10 european players can shoot. Later came kid for germany who elavated this type of style to new level...

I didnt include T.Parker D.Schremf ,Z.Ilgauskas because i felt they are more americans school player, not european.
