Man, that is why I admired Kai for dreaming NBA, surely, he will be a millionaire and a star in PH, but he leave those behind for a higher calling. I hope our new generation of players will have the same mentality.
It is going that way. Thats why selfish Pba make a shitty rule that player eligible to apply on pba draft must apply in a 2 years limit.

They dont want to lose players that jas a chance to enter nba.

Lebron lopez is halfway going there, Us prep school like Kai, pero parang may humaharang sa kanya.

..so how much is SMC willing to pay him? your point won't make sense if SMC is willing to pay the 900k all the same. we all know MVP gives its players side bonuses as well

Well i think Junmar and Jason Castro were offered by CBA team at around 1.5 M in pesos monthly x 6 months season... The thing is, on the off season, rhey can seek other employment like PBA or their local leagues... Sa PBA while you are paid whole year round, yun lang, you cant do side jobs... Like Aussie and Kiwis, who play in Euro Lwague, on their off season they play in their domestic league... Sa PBA lang lkasi, long term and security ang habol nila.. But money wise, if you know your good and you know your worth, you wouod really try abroad...

This is probably the reason why our basketball development has stagnated... prospects see basketball as a ticket out of poverty and not as a means of self-improvement... Parks chose to cash in on NU offer to pay for his dad's bills. on the other hand Kai and GDL bros, who are both from well-off families are choosing development over cash flow..

I'm sure many will follow on this because they wanted more luxurious contract or more playing time..
But it should be two way street. Like in the NBA, players have the control on where to go because they know teams can trade them away if they feel like it. Like Andre Drummond, who is playing good in Detroit but the team thinks its time to rebuild and let go of him. I think its best that both player and team will have the right to chose where to play and sign. Slaughter will not be included in that free agent market as he is drafted in 2013. Only 2014 and later draft years are eligible. And 2015 draftees are only eligible for free agency only in 2022 season; so on and so forth...

i dont see anything wrong with it. even in my job i always demand higher. then can negotiate. i dont blame parks. with PBA's long season you want to get more bang from your buck.

Wow ROS is still paying Yap that huge kind of amount? sabagay may endorsements.

If i were TNT i will just trade BRP for a serviceable big. Maybe Kyle Pascual /Rome Dela Rosa plus picks will do. and let SMC/ Magnolia negotiate.

Instead of encouraging the next generation you try to diminish them with your words? For what? To gain more fame? Its sad I continue to pray for peace in whatever you are trying to attain. My family and people closest to me knows my heart and what is true.

if PBA players' salaries are capped at P420,000 a month and the team salary cap is set at P50 million from P47M the previous season, bonuses given by ballclubs to players for won games cannot exceed P6,000 in the eliminations, P8,000 from the quarterfinals, and P10,000 for the finals.

Half of their salaries are under the table, no wonder why the best players would want to be in SMC or MVP's camp..

                      • Why would you trade for a player who's on the market because of his salary demands then afterwards play hardball with him? That's just not smart..

                        • PBA players should revive the labor union that represents basketball players in the PBA. Who do you think have the trait of the next "El Presidente"?

I will not discuss his achievements outside pba because it is different matter anyway.. we see many high profile imports and good resume but sucks when they play here.. is parks led blackwater to semis? Nothing.. he's still nothing as of now in the pba.. he needs to prove it before he demands like this.. his demand likes of salary of a Terrence Jones type of player.. is his play like Terrence Jones? Even Al Chua will not bite in his preferred salary..
he has already proven while with BW. not that much but for him it was enough. again his demand is optional thats how negotiation works. parks knows how to value himself. his valuation may be different from yours. in the end thats what he wants. now its time for TnT to negotiate.

Chris Tiu would have been a good candidate but family business was his main focus now
