            BC Donetsk Reign In Ukraine

The players and fans of BC Donetsk are celebrating like there is no tomorrow.

The club completed a 4-0 sweep of rivals Azovmash in the Ukrainian Superleague play-offs.

Having clinched a first-place finish in the regular season over Budivelnyk by a game, Donetsk downed Dnipro 3-1 in the post-season quarter-finals.

Next up was Ferro-ZNTU in the semi-finals, and Donetsk won that series, 4-2.

While Azovmash, one of the traditional powers in the country, pushed Donetsk hard, Sasa Obradovic's men withstood the pressure and claimed an 84-79 title-clinching triumph on Thursday.

Vojdan Stojanovski, a member of the surprising F.Y.R. of Macedonia side that clinched fourth place at the EuroBasket, had 17 points.

Ramel Curry, who was voted the Best Defender in the Superleague this season, was named MVP of the play-off finals.

Both Donetsk and Azovmash played in the Eurocup this season, with the former reaching the quarter-finals and winning one of the two games against Lietuvos Rytas, only for the Lithuanian side to advance on points difference to the Finals.

After Thursday's game, there were jubilant scenes.

The Donetsk players ran over to their coach, Obradovic, picked up him and threw him into the air.
