Zhou Qi won the best defensive player off the season award. Zhou can block shots in the post when he covers bigmen. Weak-side shot-blocking is where he shines most, surprising a lot of players.

        Zhou Qi
        Height (w/ shoes): 7-2
        Weight: 209
        Wingspan: 7-6 1/2
        Hand Width: 10
        Hand Length: 9 1/2
        Standing Reach: 9-6 1/2
        Country: China

-One of the tallest players measured at the Hoop Summit all-time, Qi's wingspan ranks among the 25 longest in our extensive database. He ties for the longest hands of any player on the World Team with George Lucas. His 209-pound frame remains the biggest question-mark regarding his NBA potential as he is painfully skinny at this stage and has a narrow frame that might not have great potential for growth. John Henson (7-5 wingspan, 9-4 standing reach, 216 pounds) seems to be the best body comp we can find for Qi, even if the Chinese big man towers over him at 7-2 (Henson is 6-10 ½ in shoes)

Zhou Qi's name in the NBA Draft Combine early list.
The NBA Draft Combine has become more and more like the NFL's version: There's a lot of talk, the top players don't take part in the drills, the player interviews are what matter most, and at the end of the day most players don't actually move up or down that much based on the results.

Earlier, Rockets tried to invite and sign Zhou Qi for training camp all the way to the China games vs New Orleans + He Tianju. Xinjiang management reiterated that Zhou's contract does not have an "NBA Clause" as of yet.

Zhou Qi, 7-foot-2, the 43rd pick in the 2016 NBA draft, has agreed to a multiyear deal with the Rockets, sources said.

After a disappointing and largely forgettable rookie season, Zhou Qi has been quite solid in the Summer League. Game 1 was quite good, Game 2 was better, and I'm watching Game 3 now and he's dominating. Granted, it's not the greatest competition, but he looks like he put in some work in the 3pt shooting when we compare his numbers this summer with those in the G-league/NBA this past season. Also appears slightly stronger and more aggressive when he has the ball.

His biggest problem is still his unwillingness to do dirty work, especially to bang his body when he's off the ball or waiting for rebounds. Offensively, it's not a huge problem if he continues to shoot the 3 at a high percentage, because in the NBA a 7 footer can always stretch the defense and allow smaller players attack the basket. Defensively he is a monster against those "quick" guards who think they can beat him off the dribble, but not so good against really physical bigs. This he needs to work on the most.

It will be very interesting, and hopefully exciting to follow him this year. I think he'll gradually crack the rotation in Houston, I would say 5-8 minutes of non-garbage time in 2019 Postseason is a reasonable goal.

                              Game 2 highlights:
