Awesome game by Zhou against Russia. One more block would have made it a triple double. Amazing.

Zhou Qi had a dominant National China Games participation in leading his Liaoning team in their age bracket tournament. A handful of CBA teams it seems are very interested in him. If that is the case, he is CBA bound and could be given a special exemption much like when Guo Ailun entered the CBA.

It seems Zhou Qi has left for the United States for a Li Ning sponsored training camp and skill development.

Apparently, Zhou is back in China and training with the U18 national team for next year's U18 FIBA Asia championship.

Very surprised to having known that Zhou has signed a contract with Xinjiang instead of Liaoning.

The contract is for 3 years and apparently 7.35 Million US$

Wow, that makes Zhou one of the highest paid rookies in the CBA's history.

Don't be so optimistic,he is not strong enough by now, potential is not on par with ability

I've watched this guy a little over the last couple of years and I believe he does have the ability to be a solid backup center in the NBA. The biggest problem, like most of you have said, is he needs to get much stronger. He has a thin frame so I wonder if he'll be able to put on the necessary weight. I do like his skill level and the way he moves. He seems agile enough to make a difference on defense.

Zhou Qi 17p 11r 3b 2a in 23min against Iran, best player for China in the game, scored a number of points over Haddadi, and made nice passes. Most encouraging thing is he has a big heart, plays hard and is unafraid to take over and make plays even though he's the youngest player in the team (tournament?). I'm pretty sure now he'll make it into the NBA.

Next up is the CBA season, and then eventually China's chance to redeem themselves at the 2015 Asia Championship. Possible matchups for both Wang Zhelin and Zhou Qi against Hamed Haddadi and Andray Blatche (if he returns to play). Blatche already signed in the CBA, so that should be interesting for both players.

If they win, China gets a spot at the 2016 Olympics and Zhou Qi could get his shot to show the world what he can do on the senior stage and build his chances towards the NBA. If eligible, there's also the Nike Hoop Summit.
