Harry Giles is back and from his workout footages with the team in Las Vegas, he looks healthy, stronger and much more explosive.

Is this the first time they've invited U19 players to this camp? Seems like previous camps have just been for U16/17 players.

I don't believe any of the players are there for the U19s. I think all of the Class of 2015 are there for next year's Nike Hoop Summit.

Afaik it's the first time that Jr players are invited to Showalter's mini camp.

USA-Bball link just mentions the Hoop Summit for the 2015-Class players, but some could be selected for the U19 NT as well. Seven or eight of them did play for the U18 Fiba Americas qualifier.

Don Showalter and Sue Phillips named 2014 Co-Developmental Coaches of the Year for their achievements with Men's and Women's U17 WC teams.
For Showalter this is the 6th straight award since the inception of US-Basketball Developmental project linked to the U16/17 NT. Both Men's and Women's cadet US teams are undefeated in international competitions each with a 38-0 record.

It's again a mix of ages, very likely eligible for next year's U17WC and U18 FIBA qualifier.

The eighth Junior National Team Minicamp will be held Oct 8-9, 2016 in Colorado Springs. Don Showalter will again lead 56 invitees of various ages, who could compete at 2017 Nike Hoop Summit, U19 WC and U16 Fiba Americas.

Again these minicamps are actually the most interesting and intriguing concentration of talent bar none every year. Especially the kiddies are so young but have special talent. Names like Isiah Todd, Greg Brown, Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Shemar Morrow or Jaden Springer represent the future of this game. You can expect a lot more demolition on the hands of Showalter. Can't wait to see the next camp next year with some kids missing out now. Could this edition be the best of all? It is very early but it could be.

Don Showalter to come back at the helm of US cadet national team that will compete in June at the U16 Fiba Americas. Showalter owns an amazing 50-0 record since the start of U16/17 international tournaments. He also has directed the Men's Developmental team mini camps from the very beginning.

The USA Junior National Select team comprised of 24 HS players from 2019-class will participate in the NCAA Next Generation Sunday (April 1) at the Final Four.

The announced roster (plus additional 2020-class players) could well represent the players pool for the U17 WC team.

The greatest collection of underage talent assembled ever. As I wrote before the next U16/U17 edition will be so unreal impressive.
