                    I believe Roe was on the US national team in Saint Petersburg 1992 for the Goodwill Games. He's a good player. Very skinny, though. I'm kind of surprised he's still playing, because he's probably about 40 now.

                      Liga A all star game 2011 - Mar 14, 2011 (by Facundo Iatzky)
                      It was an exciting all star weekend. The all star game finally was won by the foreign team easily 68-51. They took adavantage since the first quarter and then could mantained it during the rest of the game. Kyle Lamonte (191-G-84, agency: KMG Sports Management, college: William Carey) of Penarol Mar del Plata was named the MVP of the game. He scored 14 points. David Jackson (196-G-82, college: Penn St.) and Byron Johnson scored 12 each and Josh Pittmann added 11. Matias Lescano (196-G/F-79) led domestic team with 12 points, followed by Ruben Wolkowyski and Facundo campazzo.

                      legends game: It was played a game between legend players of Cordoba and legend players of the rest of the country. The victory was for Cordoba team. The Mvp of this game was Leandro Palladino (194-G-76).
                      Star shooting game: winning team: Mario Milanesio (188-G-63), Federico Kammerichs (203-F/C-80), Rocio Rojas (168-G-91)
                      3 point shooting contest: Juan Espil (194-G-68) once again was the winner showing that he is one of the best shooters of the argentinian basketball history. He beat Eduardo Villares in the final.
                      Skill challenge: Young point guard of Atenas Cordoba, Felipe Pais (185-G-90) was incredibly fast and won the challenge overcoming Nicolas de los Santos in the final.
                      dunk contest: Decorey Young (201-F-84, college: Cumberland), player of Instituto Cordoba in Regional league, was invited and he did not dissapoint the ones who choosed him. He defeated Erbel De Pietro in the final with a fantastic dunk showing that he is good at football too.

                        Hi Matt, he is 38 and had a great carrer in Europe. Recently he was playing in Mexico doing pretty well. Last night scored 20 to lead Regatas to the victory.

                          Wow! That's pretty good! I'm glad to hear that. Everybody loves to see older guys playing high-level basketball. Thanks for the info, Diego.

                            At Cordoba, Atenas took game one outscoring Quimsa 21-2 on third quarter.
                            -9 players played between 18 and 23 minutes.
                            -5 players scored 8 + pts
                            defense was the key for the victory, Greg Lewis led the team with 14 pts and 8 rbs while the young SF Miguel Gerlero (On the preliminary list for the Argentinian NT, which will play the Panamerican Championship) posted 11 pts and 4 rbs for a Valoration of 19. As for Quimsa, Diego Cavaco led the way whith 10 pts, while center Damian Tintorelli posted 9 pts and 8 rbs.

Foreigners Greg Lewis and JAmes Williams conbined for 34 pts 16 rbs and a valoration of 44, while former CAI Zaragoza (Spain) Matias Lezcano posted 8 pts 7 rbs 4 ast and 2 steals. youngsters Diego Gerbaudo (Former Real Madrid junior team) and Miguel Gerlero contributed with 11 pts 2 rbs 2 ast and 10 pts 2 rbs respectively.

                            Game 1: Peñarol 78 - 66 Libertad

                            At home, the current LNB champion Peñarol defeated Libertad 78-66 to take the lead of their semifinal series. Peñarol star, the Olympic gold medalist Leonardo Gutierrez led the way with 20 pts 4 rbs and 3 ast for a valoration of 26, while PG Sebastian Rodriguez scored 19 pts (7/12 FG) in 26 minutes for a valoration of 17. As for the visitors Sebastian Ginobili (manu's brother) was the most efficient player with 14 pts and 4 ast 2 steals, Val 22 while Ron Selleaze contributed with 15 pts and 5 rbs.

                            Game 2: Peñarol 103-101 Libertad

                            Double overtime win for peñarol which now leads the series 2-0. Huge game for the young SF Nicolas Lauria (Peñarol) who led his team with 27 pts (7/9 3PTFG) and 10 rbs. Lauria, who is on the preliminary list of the Argentinian NT for the panamerican Championship, got a valoration of 35! while Leo Gutierrez scored 17 pts. Six player scored 10+pts for Peñarol.
                            Libertad´s talented PG Juan Pablo Cantero (15 pts 2rbs and 2 ast) forced the first overtime with a buzzerbeater 3 pointer, while Wolkowyski (Former NBA and Argentinian NT) and Robert Battle (Former ACB) led Libertad's effort as they conbined for 38 pts and 23 rbs.

                              LigaA: Penarol defends the title - Jun 6, 2011 (by Eurobasket News)

                              Finals, Game 5: Penarol - Atenas 89-83 (4-1)

                              Penarol outplayed Atenas 89-83 last night defending the LigaA title with almost perfect 4-1 in the Finals. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 33-26. But Atenas won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Penarol won last quarter 22-17. 31 personal fouls committed by Atenas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International forward Leonardo Gutierrez (200-78) stepped up and scored 25 points and 4 steals for the winners and guard Facundo Campazzo (180-91) chipped in 16 points. American forward Gregory Lewis (198-78, college: Winthrop) responded with 31 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import power forward James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
                              Penarol finished regular season as No.2 with 20-10 record. They eliminated Regatas with 3-2 in the Quarterfinals and later swept Libertad with perfect 2-0 in the Semis. Except of the last season, Penarol was also the LigaA champion in 1994.
