Er...got my Spanish teams mixed up there.

Ros Casares won the rematch in Valencia today, 80-76.

Quoting coach Auriemma, USA women put themselves in a hole, the way they started the game and they weren't able to recover.
Tina Charles was fouled out early and Asjah Jones had similar troubles. Shooting wasn't at level and some unforced turnovers added as well.
The only really positive note comes from Britt Griner (22 pts, 8 reb, 3bs and 0 to).
Ros is anyway one of the best European club teams and their Belgian center Ann Wauters is a top world player.

More than one year after Crystal Langhorne was left out from the NT selection, it seems she definitely went into USAB oblivion.

Read this article of August 2010: http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/column...lle&id=5475190.

This year is a repeat of 2010.

Langhorne earned the WNBA All Star selection in 2011 for the second year in a row, she scored a career high 18.2ppg with a remarkable 53.4FG% but she's always a NT forgotten !

Elena Delle Donne (University of Delaware) is another standout who should deserve to make the list. She's the NCAA current top scorer (28.2ppg) and has brought her college to an unprecedented national ranking. A junior like Britt Griner, Delle Donne has also gained international experience leading USA team (points/rebounds) to the gold at the 2011 World University Games.

First 11 members of the 2012 NT have been announced.

From previous international experience Candice Dupree could be a candidate for the last spot, but the new roster looks abundant in forwards...

Five former UCONN standouts. This could be the last Olympics for Cash, Catchings and Taurasi.

Brittney Griner is rumored to be the last addition to the team.

So the three players from the 2010 that have been left off are Appel (no surprise), Dupree, and Jones while Parker and Augustus have been added. Dupree had a strong tournament in 2010. Jones didn't play much in 2010 but what if she wins Euroleague MVP? Or is the 12th spot already earmarked for Griner?

Asjha Jones is going strong in Euroleague and posted a fine double-double (20+11) in the last game won by Rivas over Fenerbahce.
But, like Dupree, she's another Fw in a crowded roster position.
Maybe Griner, if she continues to shine in the NCAA Final Four can have a chance...but maybe US team would need a guard more.
    We'll see.

USA Team to play an exhibition game with China on May 12, during the May 11-13 training camp in Seattle.

    http://www.usabasketball.com/womens/..._training.html

It looks like just 11 players will attend the May mini camp.

No good news, since Griner had excellent chances to get the final spot.

    Story here: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/colle...ion/54417992/1

Still, there are at least two-three candidates who could make the final team.
