  • News & Transactions for the 2010/11 BBL Season

    Time for a new thread.

John Bowler is leaving Bonn after four years. Probably unhappy with his backup role behind Ensminger. (Source)

ALBA is not looking for a new coach. Pavicevic will stay and fulfill his contract (runs until 2012). Baldi was quite clear about this yesterday: "We'll discuss everything. But we won't discuss Pavicevic."

Arthur Kolodziejski won't get a new contract in Bonn.

Shooting Guard Walt Bexley joins ratiopharm Ulm.

Big one: Hendrik Rödl new headcoach in Trier. 3 year contract.

As @robbe already posted in the international thread, German international Sven Schultze signed a two year deal in Berlin.

PF Dragan Dojcin moves from Berlin to Trier (Source: Beobasket) where former head of Berlin youngster teams Henrik Rödl just became head coach.

Some more transactions previously uncovered here:

BBC Bayreuth signed a couple of guards, namely canadien combo guardOsvaldo Jeanty and 20yo PG Simon Schmitz.

EnBW Ludwigsburg adds 23yo PF/SF Johannes Lischka from Gießen.

Gießen signs SF Tim Schwartz out of Pro B and PF/C Dirk Mädrich.

SG Walt Baxley, one of the best scorers in Pro A last season, signed for ratiopharm Ulm.

Tübingen closes the gap underneath their basket with seven-footer Anatoly Kashirov, who had quite an impressive season for MBC.

New TBB Trier coach Rödl signed another player of his former club: SF Philipp Zwiener.

NT PG Heiko Schaffartzik (whose biggest fan is robbe) will leave Germany for a foreign club. A rumour at Schönen-Dunk says Türk Telekom might be his destination.
                  Only Boris can judge me.

                        This thread needs some input.

Bamberg: Extended with Goldsberry. Gavel and Suput should be officially announced soon. Pleiß is expected to stay for another season. Casey Jacobsen was paid by an external sponsor last season, this money won't be there in 10/11. As could be Jacobsen.

Oldenburg: Added Aron "tank" Baynes, who'll do what he does best: bang in the middle. Don't think he'll have much of an offensive role, but something like 7p/5r could be in range. Louis Campbell replaces Je'Kel Foster. Looking for a point guard and a trio of big men.

ALBA: Signed Imanuell McElroy to a new one-year-contract. Chubb is out after the inclusion of Patrick Femerling and Yassin Idbihi. Jenkins is under contract till 2011 and I don't think there's any urgency to change that. Marko Marinovic was obviously high up their list so they're happy they got him, if we can believe Demirel's words. They're still looking for starting calibre players on SF and PF.

Bonn: Are shortening the rotation due to some slight budget decrease. Nic Wise from Arizona Wildcats will start at the point, Jeremy Hunt is backup at 1 and 2 but mainly 2. Will present another comboguard soon.

Göttingen: Playmaker Taylor Rochestie is off to Galatasaray, huge opportunity for him. Meanwhile, Göttingen has brought Kyle Bailey back. Louis Dale figures to be another pretty nice addition. Expect them to overachieve again. Highest wins/budget ration by far in the last couple of years.

Frankfurt: Aubrey Reese and Seth Doliboa off to Turkey, Derrick Allen to Berlin. Added AJ Moye. Nothing to get excited about so far.

Quakenbrück: New headcoach is Stefan Koch, TV analyst, former Gießen and Frankfurt headcoach, brother of Bonn headcoach Michael Koch. Quickly made a few moves to bring the crowd on his side in signing Artland favourite Bryan Bailey, the league-wide popular Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, Bonn's energetic backup playmaker Johannes Strasser and former Artland hero Adam Hess. Plus, everybody is moderately excited about Tyrese Rice's potential.

Bremerhaven: Brought back Craig Callahan. Louis Campbell is off to Oldenburg while Jeff Gibbs is going for the money far east.

Ludwigsburg: New coach Markus Jochum made three interesting additions so far: center John Bowler from Bonn, German forward Johannes Lischka from Gießen and playmaker Jerry Green from Cantu, the guy that had led Ludwigsburg to their first and so far only BBL finals appearance.

Half of the teams - enough for today.

Artland's moves are interesting, especially the signing of Tyrese Rice, who disappointed me a bit last season in Greece, but the guy is talented and now that he has some experience I think he can do pretty well.

Best wishes to Jerry Green. His stats will never be jawdropping but he's a leader on the court and can win games. Good for Ludwigsburg that he's back.

What is your opinion about Drevo to Germany ?
How many strangers (and American) in team next season to Germany?
