I'm assuming that Vaidas Kariniauskas will be out due to injury. You therefore only have six candidates on your list. But Team Lietuva will need five guards anyway. I'd add two more candidates quite simply because the last thing you want is for a newcomer to get a "free pass" onto the team. Žygimantas Janavičius and either Tomas Dimša or Laurynas Beliauskas should be invited to training camp. That way nobody gets a free pass onto the team and we can be reasonably confident that all five of the final selections belong on the team.

It's a short camp. Players won't get down as ninepins. Six guards is enough, IMO. Kariniauskas might be in, the rumour is that his hand is healing well. There's no "free pass". Jokubaitis has been playing at the high level. Besides, Iggy probably will be in, as he's a wing just as Rokas Giedraitis, so he can be listed to the guard list either.

Okay, but I'm not talking about a camp of twenty+ players. If these nine centers and forwards are invited to camp:

Artūras Gudaitis
Domantas Sabonis
Tadas Sedekerskis
Jonas Mačiulis
Mindaugas Kuzminskas
Edgaras Ulanovas
Arnas Butkevičius
Ignas Brazdeikis

That still leaves room for eight guards in a camp limited to a very manageable number of seventeen.

Yes, five players will have to be cut. That is admittedly a difficult but necessary part of any coach's job.

Don't see a point to have 20+ players when a camp will be shorter than 2 weeks likely. Make your mind, have 2-3 players as a reserve. Good to go.

Maksvytis' warrior Čižauskas with 3,6eff points per 21min in the second division of France. One of the craziest bias ever witnessed. Compare that with Velicka's 11.7eff in the senior league of France.

Be nice to see what Arnas Velička can bring to camp this spring. If he makes the team, so much the better. If he doesn't, well so be it, he doesn't.
