        • Don't need to overreact people

Valanciunas is not better player than Gobert overall, but he was in game 1.

Gobert will have games will he will outplay Jonas in this serries I'm sure and jazz overall will win the serries more likely .

But guarding JV for 2 weeks will take something from Rudy going further in playoofs .Grizzlies shown they will not be pushovers even for 1 seed.

Serries will end around June 4. Most important hopefully no injuries will happen and JV will come to NT camp with real basketball playoofs type shape.

            Hmmmm.

Rudy Gobert (The Stifle Tower, The French Rejection, The Gobert Report, Gobzilla): 2020-21 PER 23.5 in 30.1 MPG

Jonas Valančiūnas (JV, Lithuanian Lightning, Big Science): 2020-21 PER 24.4 in 28.3 MPG

Well maybe, maybe. Gobert wins the battle of the nicknames anyway.

              • Lithuanian homers unite! How dear those Americans think that third best center in the league is actually better than Valanciunas. Fucking rednecks...stole an all star ticket from JV for 10 consecutive seasons...

Offensively Jonas is slighty better than Gobert. But defensively Rudy is alot better than Jonas. Thats gives him edge in overall players rankings.

But 1 vs 1 mathcup versus Jonas one of few Rudy would like to avoid if possible. Jokic,Valanciunas,Embid those really strong dudes that pushes him around is his least likeable matchups for Rudy i would say in entire league.

Remember Rudy and Jonas is same age.Basketball players who is born in 1992 have little fear inside them from teenager age when they see Jonas ,they didnt forget how he was totally dominating everybody in the world at their age category.

Jonas destroyed Gobert in 2014 bronze match and outplay him 2019 game. Rudy was complaining to tv after game 1 that referees allow Jonas to push him and he tried to do same thing and got 6 fauls

So i expect Rudy going strong in game 2. Good thing Jonas dont care he still gonna come and try to take his rebounding position inside like fair human being

oh yes, how dare those lithuanian homers give any praise or admiration to this useless "lumberjack" JV...am I doing this right SF? Because no matter what Jonas does, he's still that stiff from Utena who is not worth licking any "superstar" shoes in the NBA. Is that still correct SF? Anyway, it's pretty much a consensus that JV is the most underrated player in NBA currently, and I will be content with him exposing that overrated french hack over and over again

You're just said that JV is better then Gobert while you would find zero non- Lith NBA observer who would say so (JV is ranked as 8th best and Gobert 3rd best by NBA analytics). How is that not homerism?

Well I clearly underestimated Rudy Gobert. I thought he was just another annoying Frenchman but he's clearly an NBA all-star caliber player. After that first game he outplayed Jonas Valančiūnas by a wide margin.

                        • So Jonas Valančiūnas is trading Memphis BBQ:

                          For New Orléans jambalaya:

If he still has a hankering for BBQ ribs, there's still the Ugly Dog Saloon & BBQ in the Warehouse District just a few blocks from New Orléans' celebrated French Quarter:

There's no shortage of good eating places in New Orléans', that's for sure!

New Orleans is all about dat jazz and spicy delicious food, so I'm pretty certain Jonas will feel at home there too imo...the NBA team there is also more ambitious and serious about winning than young Memphis kids, so the potential to go deep in the playoffs is more realistic as well. All in all, this is an improvement for both Jonas and Pelicans likewise

Nothing but an expiring contract for NO. 1 year stop for JV there.

even so, it's still a an upgrade for NOP in the center position with an offensively gifted center who can continue his good run of form for another season and then hopefully sign an even better contract in free agency
