I don't think it would be very tough to beat you without Vroman .

you cant even beat our college players(three 5'10" playing major minutes) with your team parading 8 national team mainstays, el khatib, nate johnson and a 7'3" center. damn! that's one hard pill to swallow.

that's why i used "if". they talk about their level in international basketball as if they're unbeatable when they're using an import and their opponents do not.
Dude. Not all of them think like that.

4 of their players including khatib didn't play on that game because of injuries.

There is a HUGE difference between the Lebanese NT that you will face this summer and the riyadi team that you faced in the asian cup .

Agreed... people should be aware that the Philippines is the only country in Asia who keep sending their national teams (since 2005) in FIBA Asia Champions Cup... the rest sends their best clubs.. so comparing the Lebanese NT with the Lebanese club in the Champions Cup doesn't help our cause at all..

It seems that not many people are aware that the FIBA Asia Champions Cup is a Club Tournament and its official name outside the Asian region is the FIBA Asia Clubs Championship...

fiba.com says that the riyadi team is composed of 8 nt players out of the 12 that played last 2007. 4 were not included this time and was replaced by 2 new players and 2 imports then all of a sudden they're no longer the lebanon nt?

if that's the case that riyadi team was a club team playing against our nt. riyadi are the underdogs after all.

                        • They send their best clubs but they are usually reinforced by players from other teams. that is why the 2009 champions cup champion Mahram has about 5-6 national players. not all are really players of mahram, they came from other clubs. the same case riyadi.

in addition, even kutitap and hapee (1995 and 1996 abc champions cup winners) were reinforced by players from other PBL teams.

in reality, very few teams send a real, original club team. some exemptions are china (when they were competing) and south korea.

even so no one cant deny the fact that this is the same lebanon team. the core 8 of the 12 players plus 2 new recruits and 2 imports is a completely different team? they just replaced their reserved players with 2 imports.

only 4 players replaced with vogel as the major player not included and they are a completely new team? i hate math.

Not really, clubs usually are stronger than national teams considering club players has been playing together for a longtime unlike the national teams when players only played together during international season.. for example, if you look at the 1998 and 2002 PBA conferences that featured the national teams... both RP Teams struggled against PBA teams

Riyadi is just fortunate to have 8 players from the Lebanon national team... but it doesn't mean its their national team...

@neo... its more like its their league's selection rather than a club but unlike RP, its not a national team...

that was maybe 2 or 3 years, but now even without Vroman we still can qualify to the World cup.
With the new reinforcements on pos 4 and 5 like Daniel Faris,Matt Freije and Ali kanaan,we can beat you easily this time.
                                Thank you!
