I have a feeling there WILL be a dark horse. A team like Philippines, Uzbekistan, Japan or Taiwan. A team we wouldve never expected to go so deep into the tournament. That happened in 2007 with Kazakhstan. One thing is for sure: Sri Lanka do not deserve to be in Tianjin. They should not even show up and spare the embarrassment. Their track record in the Asian Basketball Championship is 0-41. Can you believe that? Not a single win in 41 games!?!?! And the funny thing is all the other 3 teams in their group are tough. Its gonna be a very exciting tourney and I cannot wait! 49 hours till the opening game.

But yeah i agree with you. The optimist in me says that the Philippines could be that dark horse but really we are all praying for a miracle at this point. i do believe that one of Iran, Lebanon, Jordan and China will NOT make it to the semifinals; the question really is who will catch them on an off-night in that quarterfinals match-up.

I predict Dato Yeoh will do his police duties against his target players..particularly Qatar, Lebanon and Philippines..I do hope he's serious with his headliner announcement that he'll crack down suspicious nationalities..if ever he doesn't do anything..then he's just a big joke for Asian Basketball. I do feel that after the crack down, Qatar will lose 7 players..lolz.

I predict that China will emerge unbeaten in their own turf...and Lebanon will be the runner-up. Iran will be the 3rd placer.
