Interesting. Is there an official website for the tournament? Where will it be held?

Is Gibraltar a special guest to the event?

OK, just checked. The games will be held in Aland.

The Euroleague Organization and Mr Bertomeu are like the Bulgarian Government: corrupt, partially stupid, and a huge underestimator of people's intelligence.

That tournament looks cool. Especially if they travel each year to one of those places.
Can't see the Island of Man or Jersey being very good though.

I agree. The smaller tournaments always seem like so much fun. I´m sure there´s some great talent with these teams, even if they´re not in any big pro leagues.
"I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

Aland at least has one player who can dunk:
An Englishman's views on ?land politics and life.

Well, Menorca had an ACB team for the last seasons and some good players. Sergio Llull is from there and also Agusti Sans, the most promising u-15 spanish player (he was the MVP of the last minicup). Patricio "Tisi" Reynés was a very important player in the minor spanish leagues (LEB-EBA) and played some years in the ACB with Tenerife.

I checked the website and they include so many sports. Plus I learned more about Ã…land Islands, so it was very educational. I checked also facts about other participants as well, so a good geography lesson and general knowledge.

Since these nations will never have a decent chance in the Olympics, it is a good idea to have these many competitive sports for sportsmen of these small places.

The same raison-d'etre also led to the organization of Olympics of Smaller European Nations like Cyprus, Malta, Andorra, San Marino, Luxembourg, Monaco etc. I attended one of those Olympics in Cyprus especially basketball events and it was a sight to see. That's also when we first saw Don Ross playing for the national basketball team of Malta. He was so impressive the Cypriot clubs made offers and he played for quite some time in ENAD of Agios Domitios (Enosis Neon Agiou Dometiou in Cyprus.

I'm all for athletic events for island states as it encourages development of many sports there including basketball.

Who's the touted winner in this Sporting event, is it Caymans? I heard basketball is also a favorite there.
you know why I am happy

Wow, some of these scores seem as if they are from mnay decades ago.

                              Men: Rhodes 141-42 Aland (-99)
                              Women: Gibraltar 114-18 Aland (-96)
                              Men: Saaremaa 120-26 Aland (-94)
Men: Cayman Islands 110-29 Jersey (-81)
Men: Menorca 119-41 Isle of Man (-78)
                              Men: Bermuda 100-33 Jersey (-67)
Women: Guernsey 89-23 Isle of Man (-66)

Would be interested to be able to gauge the level of competition. Is it because Rhodes is that good, or is it because Aland is that bad? Is Gibraltar's defense that great to hold Aland to just 18 points?
