Since the games will be held at Pasig City, I would suggest that you stay in the Pasig area as well. It would be practical since you avoid the typical traffic in the metro. There are drive thru motels in Pasig which is just about a kilometer or two away from the venue although I don't know if this would be ideal. These motels are known for its short-time rates, meaning it's used for other purposes. But then, they have accommodations that allow you to stay for 24 hours. I would suggest you google Rosal Motel or any of the "flower" motels in Pasig as these are the more affordable ones. These include Dahlia, Sampaguita, among others. But since you're coming as a family, I'm not sure if this would be ideal for you.

There's also the Horizon Edsa Hotel located at EDSA Pioneer. Or you can try GoHotel which is owned by the Gokongweis along EDSA. This one will obviously be more decent. Horizon may be a bit pricier though, although it's probably classified as a 3-star business hotel.

We are going to watch the coming FIBA-ASIA Champions Cup come June 1-5, 2011. We would have wanted to come earlier sa opening but other commitments prevents me in particular. We are from Davao by the way.

Ang venue is at Philsports Arena, and we're not really well versed in the Pasig/ Rizal area, since most of my lakads in Luzon, are in Manila, Makati, QC, areas.

Sir, heto na, me idea po ba kayo where ang ideal na hotel/ motel/ inn na malapit lang sa Philsports, where we can stay for at most P 2,000.00 per night or lower?

If we get a hotel at Makati, Manila, or Quezon, malapit lang ba ito sa Pasig/ Philsports in terms of traveling distance.

Sa google maps po kasi is around 4-8 km, but in context of manila travel, meaning yung route and traffic, worth it po ba?
