Afrobasket 2013 will be held in Côte d'Ivoire from August 20 to August 31. The host city is Abidjan is the economic capital of Ivory Coast.

Afrobasket 2011 (Madagascar)
The 26th FIBA Africa Championship. The tournament was scheduled to be hosted in Abidijan, Côte d'Ivoire. However, in 2011 Madagascar was chosen as host due to a political crisis in Côte d'Ivoire. Afrobasket 2011 featured 16 teams and was held August 17–28, 2011. Tunisia won the title for the first time upsetting Angola 67–56.

Afrobasket 2009 (Libya)
Angola has won the 9 of the last 10 FIBA Africa Championships of basketball, spanning more than 20 years. Will 2009 be any different? Cameroon, Senegal, and Nigeria seem to think so. We'll see who comes out in Tripoli
