Team USA is ripping it. David Wright aka Captain America with 2H and 5 RBI's in the last game for USA as they demolished Puerto Rico.

South Korea is now 1-1 after smothering the Australians as Seung Song, in four innings allowed two hits. South Korea in a must win game next as they face Chinese Taipei who are 2-0.

Korea seems sluggish to start the tournament. That 5-0 stunner on account of 4 blunders was a horrible sight. In this game against Australia, the relievers did pitch in.

I'm excited that San Diego Padres Luke Gregerson will suit up for Team USA. Meanwhile, Gregerson's teammate, Edinson Volquez will suit up for the Dominican Republic.

My partial roster pick for USA:

    C - Buster Posey
    1B - Mark Teixeira
    2B - Dustin Pedroia
    3B - Michael Young
    SS - Troy Tulowitzki

OF: Josh Hamilton, Mike Trout, Matt Kemp, Ryan Braun, Curtis Granderson, Giancarlo Stanton, Jason Heyward, Mark Trumbo.

I would want to bring back Braun and Granderson from the 2009 WBC squad that will mesh well with the dynamos of the outfield.

There are a lot of possibilities for the pitcher, but I am hoping that Roy Halladay and Chris Sale are to be considered.

For the BP, I would want three people to be considered: Jonathan Papelbon, Jim Johnson and Sergio Romo.

I'm open to having Derek Jeter once again, but NO Bryce Harper.

You know what's surprising though? India is not ranked. They must be able to find a dozen guys who can swing a stick and throw a ball, I mean it's not that different from their national sport! (I think....)

Also why on earth is Dominican Republic not even ranked in the top 10 in the world? Their national federation must be very sorry.

Even Hong Kong is in the top 30! Really, this sport isn't very popular worldwide.

LOL again @ Chinese Taipei having to play in the qualifiers. But this is unfair because the groupings in 2009 were based on geographical regions, and obviously the Asian group was the toughest (Japan and Korea both made it to the Final game).
Man there are even some names of ranked teams (most of which are Islands located somewhere in the Pacific or Atlantic Ocean ) who i've never heard of before in my life (Belau!!! And they're ranked in 34th place!!)

I used to play softball and then some baseball while I was in elementary and middle school and i'm sure if I assembled some Lebanese friends as well as Lebanese Americans who play the sport in the States i'm sure we can field a team that has a crack at qualifying to this list
