Who would have ever thought that these two would have met?
At my work, before the start of the quarter finals we all pretty much predicted that Manchester United would meet Barcelona in the final. Manchester had nice fixtures: beat the German club from the south (Bayern), thrash the French club (either Lyon or Bordeaux) and there you have it - Madrid. However, Bayern played so well at Old Trafford, a stadium considered the hardest, if not one of the hardest stadiums to win in the world. Though the Germans lost, the progressed by away goals. As expected they not only defeated the French (Lyon) but thrashed them.
And then there's my favourite football coach and his crazy tactics in over coming the best football team on the planet, which also included the best player. Who wouldn't be surprised if "the special one" gets hired by Real Madrid next season? He is deeply hated by Barcelona and like his compatriot: Luis Figo, he has worked for Barcelona as a translator for the late Bobby Robson in the mid 90s. In addition, he wants to be the first coach to win all of the "Big 3" leagues - EPL, La Liga and Serie A. Thus, before he heads back to the EPL - where he loves to coach and most likely will take over Fergie's spot in Manchester United, he might as well first pop over to Spain and win the La Liga and do so in the "hottest seat" in European and probably world football: coaching Real Madrid.
So who will win this year's UEFA Champions League Final in the Santiago Bernabeau?
Will it be the German club? or Serie A's Internazionale?
