  • Best 2010 Movie

Ok sorry for using only Hollywood stuff and so limited. Please Write in your favorite if it wasn't mentioned here.

You can only add a poll to a thread within 5 minutes of posting the thread.

    Inception
    Fighter
    Social Network
    Black Swan
    Company Men
    Town
    Shutter Island
    The King's Speech
    Conviction
    Book of Eli
    Ghost Writer
    Alice in Wonderland
    Tourist
    Salt
    OTHER

    [Poll added. rikhardur]

Only 15 options. Tried to add only drama and action, didn't include animation, comedies and lesser known movies.
The reason of this thread and poll is to ensure Inception win over Social Network, and to know more good movies to watch from users.

Personally I liked Inception, Company Men, Fighter, Town and Ghost Writer

I think without a poll, its better because it gives us more chances to nominate films

I don't want to nominate just one best film, but I remember real good films I saw:
        -Dear John
        -The Fighter
        -Country Strong
        -Green Zone
        -Social Network
        -Black Swan
        -Shutter Island
        -The King's Speech
        -127 Hours
        -How To Train Your Dragon
        -The Ghost Writer
        -Conviction
        -The Book of Eli
        -The Karate Kid
        -Burlesque
        -Tron:The Legacy
        -The Backup Plan
        -Gran Torino

Some Lesser known movies but I just loved them
        -My Name Is Khan
        -Prophet
        -Charlie St. Cloud
        -Incendies
        -The TRotsky
        -Kites
        -Exit Through The Gift Shop
-Once Upon a Time in Mumbai
        -Les Amours Imaginaires
        -Icarus
        -Legion
        -Winter's Bone
        -Cyrus
        -Never Let Me Go
        -Morning Glory
        -You Don't Know Jack

Un prophète belongs to 2009... But, nevertheless, the movie is a killer!
A great break from Hollywood movies.

As for 2010, I would say that it's been a productive year... So many good titles.
The Town, The fighter, Inception, Shutter Island, Black Swan, Ghost Writer, Social Network, etc...

And for the first time, I must say, that I watched something which made me confused: Kick-Ass and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
I really don't know if I hate them or love them, but definitely worth watching.

BTW, as a long time fan of Tim Burton's work, I must say this time he blew it with his Alice in Wonderland. I expected something much better, at least that it would be as good as cartoon from 1951.

Still waiting for "The King's Speech" and "True Grit", it's rated really high everywhere, there're also few movies which I plan to watch, but still didn't got time. But from what I saw this year (not really a lot, some movies just skipped, especially related to polytics, I find it kinda boring): Inception, The Fighter, The Town, Book of Eli (I'm a fan of Denzel)... and Remember Me, don't know what it was so special about this movie, maybe cause I just didn't have any expectations, probably cause of that sucker from Twilight in it, just one girl wanted to see it and I, as a good and caryin' person, watched it too, and in the end it left me kinda little bit strangly shocked, didn't expect it. Who saw it probably will understand what I'm talking about, don't want to spoil it all if there's someone who plans to watch it

So, Oscar for this year is over and after two "dry" years, finally we've seen some well deserved victories... And of course, after being overlooked twice (by my humble opinion), Christian Bale got what he deserved long time ago.
Inception taking all the technical awards with a reason, Natalie Portman and Colin Firth were both amazing, so as the hole crew of The Fighter... I rooted for Black Swan, but what the hell, The King's speech wasn't bad either.
                      Geoffrey Rush is the man!

I watched "Balada triste de trompeta" yesterday. What a sick movie! I couldn't believe what I was laughing at... Amazing intro, btw!

I am fed up with the Oscars and this year's was so boring.

The fact of the matter is I mostly follow now the Foreign Films Award, the Short Films Award, the Documentaries and Short Documentaries. These are by far the most surprising and impressive. In fact take all the documentaries or foreign films nominated and have a feast day of good cinema, just watch them the full day some weekend and be entertained, surprised and educated.

Well, I didn't watch it, also. I haven't watch it for years... It's too pathetic.
And there's no Billy Crystal, either.

                          Isn't the King's Speech a foreign movie?
I understand you, but you're not right... If nothing, Aronofsky should be considered as one no-nonsense, compromise-free and very brave author, whose work definitely can't be labeled as mainstream movie.
I'm regular goer here at our film festival in Belgrade and I can't even describe you how many bullshit European and World movies I watched. It's just that too many authors are hiding behind art and independent label, just to hide their incompetence... I still remember seeing one of Kiarostami's movies, a five cadre movie, with no plot, concept, dialogue, nothing... Just frogs and people walking by ("Baraka" is great example of such concept of documentaries, in which Kiarostami failed). That film was pushed just because of Abas' name, nothing else...

Saying that King's speech, Fighter, Swan, Inception are dull or already seen, is nothing but malicious...
