There would be riots in Slovenia, suicides in Puerto Rico, protest in China, a massive hunger strike in Argentina, chaos in Greece, depression in Spain, there would be no mean for Lithuania to exist and nothing will happen in Phillipines :)

Americans wouldn't even notice the disaster it would cause if IBN ceased to exist

oh, and democracy in Cuba :D

This is funny... cause while IBN is not close... all those stuff you mention in Puerto Rico, China, Argentina, Greece, Spain and Lithuinia are happening right now in the Philippines....

:D

I was pretty much dying this morning. I actually thought about doing some work in the yard, but I decided that just trying to click "refresh, refresh, refresh" would be better.

I surf here a lot from work, and I was thinking this morning: "My god, if this continues, I will have to... WORK!"
NOOOOOOOOOOO!

phew, what a relief...

Oh man, yeah we've gone through some growing pains for sure.

JCN- I almost forgot about the times when we would be shut down because we exceeded our bandwidth with our host... those were long-ago days.

Then of course, the complete wipeout of data in 2005. That one killed me and a lot of the members. We lost a lot of great information. Luckily I was able to recover some of the member data and some older threads. Still, lost a great number of threads... :(

I'll never say never, except for when i say you "never" know what will happen. Plus as unsuperstitious as I am, I don't want to jinx it. However, I think it's unlikely those things will ever happen again. I've learned my lesson.

You guys and gals shouldn't worry about IBN going away -- save for a complete disaster, we should always be online. Or unless someone offers me a huge amount of money I cannot refuse, I plan on keeping IBN going - and if I ever decide to walk away, i'd hand the site over to the elders. Well, the elders basically run the forum right now anyways....

As with most of the oldies, especially the mods, I've taken my share of personal hiatuses. It's honestly felt like 10 years have passed, but really IBN will only be five years old this August.

Stuart
