Stunning results at NCAA tournament. Maryland taken out by upset-minded Oregon, Notre Dame out, Baylor (with one of the most talented and experienced rosters) losing to Mississippi State... Lady Bears finished with better shooting accuracy but Bulldogs took more shots and had a career night from their midget guard Morgan William (41 pts and 6 threes).

Well deserved first title won by South Carolina against Mississippi State. Bulldogs had very little left after the ot win over UConn in the semis. Gamecocks won the game without hitting a single 3-pointer (taking just three shots) and relying mainly on eventual MVP A'ja Wilson and guard Allysha Gray.
The final capped a great Div. I season, with amazing individual (Kelsey Plum) and team (UConn) records, and huge tournament upsets achieved by cinderella Miss State.

RS Jr Diamond DeShields leaves Tennessee to enter prefessional career. An ex North Carolina transfer, DeShields has graduated from Tennessee but had one year play eligibility remaining. Rather hectic college career for this former HS top prospect.

Copycat end of Italian tour for UConn and Duke. Both teams finished with a similar loss to the same pro club, Celje (SLO). Huskies fell to Slovenian champs 79-59 in Trieste, resting Napheesa Collier (slight injury), while the Blue Devils lost the day after 78-65 in Venice without three seniors who left for academic reasons. Curiously, for Celje played ex Blue Devil Oderah Chidom who became pro.
